Football (American) - October 2007

I'll list the top 5 in the BSC poll, but you can give your opinion on the best team in your eyes(within reason).
Ohio State
USF
Boston College
Oklahoma
LSU
Just something to think about:
LSU has 1 loss to Kentucky, but South Carolina beat Kentucky, but has 1 loss to LSU.
Oklahoma has 1 loss to an unranked Colorado
West Virginia has 1 loss to USF
Missouri has 1 loss to Oklahoma
Arizona, Kansas, and Hawaii, but ranked 8,13,18

My opinion: Just from the records as of now and who the teams have played. USF beat Auburn at Auburn and West Virginia. So in my eyes, they have had the best record of quality teams and an unbeaten record, so I think they deserve to be #1 as of now.

USF has probably theie toughest game coming up Thursday night. If they go to NJ and win this game, then will all the doubters quit asking why they are ranked so high? Or do they still need to run the table and go undefeated?

Has a seldom heard of college football team ever broken out of obscurity to be ranked for the first time, climb the rankings, and pull off a national title the first time in the hunt? I am refering to South Florida's current run for the BCS Championship. If anyone can provide any info as to the highest position obtained by a first time ranked team, and if a first time ranked team ever made it all the way it would be greatly appreciated.

There's talk in league circles that former Chargers, Redskins, Chiefs, and Browns head coach Marty Schottenheimer wants to return to the NFL. But not as a head coach. The scuttlebutt is that Marty wants to come back as a General Manager.

What do you think? Think that Dean Spanos is smart enough to FIRE AJ SMITH and hire Marty Schottenheimer as General Manager? I would be 100% all for it (as long as they got rid of Norv Turner when they took out the rest of the trash).

Unless they lose to the 17-0 Colts in the playoffs, and that would be hysterical. Not that I'm a Colts fan either (depressed Bears fan). But god damn they're good.

Will Tom Brady break Peyton Mannings' Passing TD record this year? The record is 49. Tom is on pace for 56! Through 6 weeks during the record season, Peyton had 17. Tom has 21! What does the answer community think?

To be so great for such a long time in the age of free agency....should we question those 3 super bowls, i mean....it seems the only thing coach bill was upset about was he got caught, i just feel like this could have been going on for quite some time.

I am so sick of everyone screaming playoff after there team losses. I think we should have a national holiday so we can all shed a tear for the SEC because they have it so rough any now Florida and LSU may not be able to play in the BCS Championship.

I am sure the world will weep with us, since there is nothing else tragic in world.

SEC ZEN Wisdom: If you lose you lost.

I think the Pac-10 finally gets it. The Big 10 certainly does, a sign of a mature conference program.

Terry Bowden and other media types sound really childish with all the whinning, and Play Off system wails at this point in the season.

I really hope my team never plays an SEC team at home. Don't really want that type of poor loser in my city.

Any thoughts? Too harsh, let em know!
