on the street, straight.... the AVERAGE speed.
1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers (according to Google).
I need to ride about 50km on the street (about 31 miles) and I want to know in how many hours I will do that... (no stops). Let's say that my speed is good, not too slower, also not like the cyclists from "Tour of france" :-) if you don't know the answer maiybe you can help me...

When i shift gears, the little metal bar only shifts a little, not enough to change gears. This makes my chain fall off quite often.

I am having trouble with my Shimano LX rear derailleur. It keeps shifting by itself and clunks up and down between gears. This is the second bike that it has happend on, first it was a Gary Fisher Cake 3 DLX now it is on a Kona Stinky. What is the problem? Are the shimano shifters compatible with the rear derailleur of SRAM? And if i up graded to an xt or switched over to a SRAM x-7 or x-9 would that work? The bike has ben tuned up and still has the same problem. Could it be the chain is the worng length? Should i switch to a long cage derailleur instead of a mid cage? Please help if you have any usefull help!

i have an old steel-frame raleigh europa racing bike that i use to get around town and am finding that i frequently get punctures, roughly once every two weeks. i bought schwalbe puncture resistant slick tyres about a month ago but i'm replacing inner tubes at rate which makes me think that buying them in bulk would be helpful. i hit potholes every now and then and usually like to cycle pretty fast. could these be causes? if so, do i just need to cycle more cautiously?

Ir's a dual suspension 21 speed Huffy Pulsar bike

Alloy brushed rims
Front & rear suspension
Aluminium dual suspension
3 piece crank
Front disc brake
Shimano EZ-fire 21 speed shifters

I am 15 and want to ride it to school and work + other close by facilities, i.e shops etc but mainly the first two which are both over 3 KM away with a lot of hard uphill riding involved.

Should I get it or not?

My bike seems to always like to stay in the first front gear, even when I try to shift to second or third. Is there a way I can fix this?

If needed, where can I find a repair shop nearby where I can get it fixed for a reasonable price?

I found a shock absorber from a mountain bike one day and tried to put it on my mountain bike with a plain fork. It didn't fit because the bar on the shock absorber was too thick to go through the hole in the frame of my mountain bike. Is it like this with all bikes without shock absorbers?

I am so feed up with idiots, suddenly honking, as they pass me. I do my 20 miles with a road bike going a pretty good clip and keep close to the side of the road. Lot's of drivers pass impatiently, refing the engine and then hit the brakes, because the are to fast, some pass me and then cut me off, turning into a drive way. But what drives me bonkers, is the honking. When I am pumped up, concentrating on my workout, the honking shocks the living daylight out of me.
Is that to sensitive?

I can't even imagine the embarassment of biking home in such a condition. It seems worse than any "naked" nightmare.

I can spend about $300. My fat tires and those rolling hills killed me in my 1st biathlon Sunday. 12 miles took me an hour and 40 minutes, including a 34 minute 5K. Help!

Thanks!

I am talking about the convenient shieldings at the top of the wheels that prevent mud and water from splashing up. My bike doesnt have this but could I go to any bike shop and buy it seperately?

I'm looking for a bike, and this one looked perfect for me:
http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/bikes/mountain/1266/29365/
(Giant Anthem Advanced)

Unfortunately, this bike costs over $6000. The reason I picked this is because it's a full suspension bike, and they describe the bike as having "outright speed, razor-sharp handling and ultra light weight." Are there any alternatives to this in the $1,400 range? Also, if that isn't possible, anything like that with a hard tail? Thanks a bunch, Brian
