You need a chain tool. Center chain in the slot and slowly press the pin out until you can wiggle the chain appart.

a chain breaker. push the pin most the way through but dont let it right out then jus pop the links apart

Both answers are corect. As an additional note, I would look at fitting a power link (SRAM), since it will make maintenance easier in the future (Just pull the link apart with your fingers).
