I enjoy doing sprint triathlons, but only do two a year. I like to Mountain Bike more than I cycle. Instead of buying a road bike, can you give me some tips (hopefully cheap tips) on how to convert my biek for the road. I just put road tires on my bike and feel a huge difference.

Is there a better option than Aero bars?

I have a bike lock that i like to keep on my bike. The holder is latched onto the frame. It locks tightly on the frame and i am worried it will screw up my new trek 2100 carbon frame. Should i be worried?

It was the livestrong challenge in philly. The course had a good bit of hills. My monitor seemed to be keeping time and mileage accurately. This just seems high but I have never gone quite this long so not sure if its normal.

It needs to be around 54-56cm, there are plenty of places online but many of them will not ship, I would be using it mostly just to stay in shape, but i do like to go fast and plan on racing on it in the spring. Any suggestions out there will be welcome.

Hi.

I weight 265, 5'11", and I'm looking for a mountain bike to ride daily...approx 10 miles a day.

I do not know the first thing about mountain bikes other than the tires need to support my weight.

Do they make bikes for big guys? Maybe a wider seat, not so thin that they normally come with ??

Thanks.

Went for a ride last night (road bike) and experienced severe cramps in my calves. It's never happened to me before. What causes this? How can I prevent it in the future? Thanks.

We would like it to have some growing room and we have looked at the Dawes Giro 300 45cm as an option.

I'm interested in a basic entry-level road bike (a touring bike, I guess? I want at least racks and possibly panniers later). I ride pretty much daily 35 miles and will mostly want it for commuting, but also for longer weekend trips.

I've read other questions regarding similar bike interests. I just want to ask if people have any strong opinions about the lower-end bikes such as Trek 1000's, Giant OCR's, even those Dawes bikes that I've seen on bikesdirect.com. If I were going to get one of these, are there major reasons why I might choose one over the other?

I definitely want something I can hopefully set up fenders and racks on, commuting in Seattle. I ride in the rain and currently get soaked pretty bad in the rain, but hopefully will change this...

I am looking to buy a moutain bike for around $500 to ride on paved biking trails and off road a little bit. I am not sure what to get as in hard tail or full suspension, what size to get, and what brand. I am a 16 y/o boy and 5,10. I looked at gt and iron horse bikes and really liked the iron horse but i am not sure because i have had mongoose bikes all my life and i also like konas. I would really appreciate any advice u can give me about moutain bikes.

Looking to buy a bike to bike to work with, nothing too far, possibly hit some mild bike trails, and improve fitness. Looking for ideas and specs on some REASONABLY priced bikes on the market, and generally what to look for when buying a bike.

As a keen cyclist (and 15 year old who won't be able to drive for two years!) why do so many cyclists take to the pavement? Often there are cycle lanes or there is always the road? Although sometimes drivers have honked at me for NOT cycling on the pavement! It's almost you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't! What is everyone's opinion on this?

I have a Trek mountain bike that was shipped to me dissembled. I have put it back together mostly except for the pedals, every time I try and screw them in the don't seem to catch on the threads. Do I need a special tool or something? I have tried using standard pliers for better grip without much luck!

i was recently struck by a motorist while riding resulting in minor injuries and a destroyed bike. i was riding against traffic (i know wrong... only option) riding with traffic takes you directly onto a restricted acsses freeway. against trafic allows acces to surface streets after about 200 meters. i was struck head on by a motorist as the motorist was turning right out of a parkinglot. the exit ramp gives a very clear veiw of the shoulder on which i was riding. the driver was turned around watching traffic looking for a clear spot to pull out while the vehicle was still rolling. he never saw me . he was stopped at the yeild sign but chose to proceed while looking behind him.
i am not interested in sueing for huge amounts of mone but i loved my bike and would like a new one. do i have a leg to stand on leagaly since i was riding against traffic with out other options?
