It needs to be around 54-56cm, there are plenty of places online but many of them will not ship, I would be using it mostly just to stay in shape, but i do like to go fast and plan on racing on it in the spring. Any suggestions out there will be welcome.

I bought my last bike on EBay they have 1000s new and used. If you know what you are looking for it's a great place for a HUDGE selection. I bought mine used it's a Cannondale Saeco replica a couple years old in great shape. New it was about $3000 I got it for $800 including shipping. I would not recomend this if you are not familiar with road bikes though.
Bikesdirect.com ships to the 48 states FREE. Check it out too. 2 friends of mine bought there and were extremely satisfied.

Try your local bike shops. Many sell used bikes that have undergone a tune up. Also look at the Specialized Allez, which can be found new for around $600-$700 in various sizes.

Go to the local bike shop and test ride a few and pick the one that is most comfortable. Check out the Trek 1000, the Jamis Ventura Comp or the Fuji newest 4.0 or the Fuji Roubaix.

roadbikereview.com has a classified section where people sell used cycling items including bikes. Many of the sellers use Paypal so it's fairly similar to Ebay-though I would be careful. I bought my frame there and was completely satisfied and got a great deal on a brand-new item.

Try to find a decent condition javelin frame. Or you could definitely get an excellent surly for that price range.
