Is it me or does it seem like the market for baseball cards, even old ones, has depreciated (gone down in value)? I have a few rookie Dave Winfield. Years ago, I had once checked the value and it was worth $100. Now, EBAY says it is $8-12. Now, I know they are NOT making more of these cards, so is it just that EBAY and internet has increased the supply of these cards to the market. Same with my autographed baseballs of Pete Rose, Steve Carolton, Johnny Bench, Nolan Ryan and many others. I have every Topps cards from 1984 to 1995 as well. I just don't see the "sold my baseball card collection to put kid through college" stories anymore. Or am I totally missing something? I guess part of the autograph stuff is you need certificate of authenticity due to so many scams. I guess for me I handed them the ball to sign so its just memories with no value on the marketplace. But my cards???

I'm an (adult) Angels fan and I am always up for some Q&A and fun ribbing with Boston and Yankee fans. That's what gets you fired up for your team. However, there always seems to be those know-it-all teens that use their computer as their only form of socialization. And what loud mouth doesn't feel safe behind their keyboard?
Is anyone else as annoyed by them as I am?

re-post...

His numbers are mediocre at best. He was never dominate let alone great at any point in his career.

None of the 5 teams he played for thought he was worthy enough to retire his number. Hint hint.

Yes, I know he has 3,701 k's. But that was over "22" years!
They don't put you in the hall for longevity.

I don't think he belong in the hall either.

Give it up. 27 in 07 is never going to happen. The fact of the matter, 27 in '08, '09, '10, or '11 isnt going to happen either. I know I'm gonna get a million posts saying "So what, the Mets arent going to win either" Those are typical Yankee fan answers. I'm not sitting here saying Mets in 07 in every post. They could win or they could not. But they're not 12 games out, so spare me the sarcasm.

Since the "final fan vote" has turned into an ethnic vote with a campaign in Japan to get people to vote for Okajima, should they just do away with it? No one is voting for the best player anyway.

I now live on the West coast of FL, and people here don't even know about the Devil Rays. (By the way, they are a Major league baseball team in Tampa, Bay). I would like to here from some fans outside of the Tampa area. This would give me some encouragement to get through another loosing season.
