Georgie I have many points to make here.Great question by the way, and a way for me to do some battle,LOL.Huge Yankee fan chick above, that's what is so funny about when school gets out for summer, you little kids come on here and answer questions like you know something or your just that stupid. There has never been any definite reports that Schilling's sock was fabricated, OK there sweetie. There has been speculation, yes, but nothing else.I have to laugh hysterically at this question, because the Yankees blew it in '04.This is where all the ********* and uppity up attitude that the entire Yankees organization comes into play. They seriously thought they were going to take us down after being behind 3 games.HaHa.Jokes on you losers {don't mind the pun, 12 games now is it??}I just don't understand where Yankee fans get off being such assholes about '04.We won, get over it, stop making accusations. All your doing is trying to save face because your stupid team was dumb enough to throw it all away. The best team won the World Series that year, and too bad for you fans, you will not win it this year, or next unless Torre and Cashman are thrown out of their asses.

I dont think Yankees fans will ever forget 2004 just like Red Sox fans will never forget ever year except for 2004..lol...2004 was the best year in my life as a loyal Red Sox fan. I honestly dont think Schillings sock was painted red with anything other than blood but, if by some chance it was, so what? It isnt cheating and it made a great story! Everyone can say whatever they want about it but, greatest comeback in sports history and it cant be denied. Honestly, if I were a Yankees fan, I would blot it out of my memory too. You just move on and hope for the best next year for your team. Trust me, I have lots of experience in that field..lol..If you are loyal to your team, noone can change your feelings and you just have to laugh at a lot of stuff in here on YA! People from other teams get along great as long as we are respectful of how the other fans feel about their teams. I have made a good friend in here and never thought I would call a Yankeefan a friend but, hey it happens..lol..
I love that the Sox have a good size lead right now but, you never know what tomorrow or next month will bring so, I enjoy it while it lasts and hope for the best. There is nothing I can do about it anyway since I am only a 5 ft tall small woman and I couldnt hit a homerun or pitch a fast ball if my life depended on it..lol...
People have fun with the rivalry but, dont bet your life on any of it..Just enjoy the sport and have fun!

1978 was a bigger choke-off than 2004. You could look at it as blowing a 3-0 series lead. But to put it simply, it's also losing four games in a row, a feat that EVERY team achieves at least once in a season. Boston had a 14 game division lead in July, that takes more than 4 consecutive games to lose. Frankly, it wasn't so much that New York warmed up, as it was that Boston cooled down that year.
The biggest choke job in ALL sports history, you need to see the game between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers. Houston blew a 42-3 lead ... in the second half. THAT'S the biggest choke job in professional sports my friend.

Have you forgotten '05 while you stuck the whitesox they usually swept you in a sries on the finish of the yr and also you ignored the playoffs? Have you forgot final yr whilst many picked the indians to visit the playoffs and a few even the arena sequence and also you entirely stunk, and grossly underachieved? Do you even keep in mind this yr 6 video games with the yankees and also you could not win a million? You keep in mind Arods granny of borowski?

Yankee fans have just erased the entire 04 season from their head. I did the same thing after the 04 World Series.

I also remember 2003, 19991 and 1978, (and yes, I was alive, very young, but still alive), I rembember those choke jobs.
U talk **** when it's been 23 years since ur franchise has won the series.
Do u remember 2003, the worst time in baseball history. 43 - 119, and they weren't an expansion team?
I see we all have some digging 2 do in our memories.

LMAO....you are tooo much.
Yes it's being touted as the biggest choke job of all time by Sportswriters in the Michigan area, right?
It happened and it's downright embarrassing. The Redsox got white hot after being down 3 games. I was at Game six and knew we were toast.

If I was a Yankees fan, I would've drowned my sorrows in alcohol all night until I forgot that it ever happened. So, this could very well be the reason.
And come on, people are really still on this bloody sock thing? I hate Schilling with a passion, but I doubt it was faked for effect.
Perhaps I will start ending my posts in:

I remember it, and I do act as if it happened. Don't assume Yankee fans aren't as low as Bo Sox fans. Oh, and what year was it when the Yankees were down..what..9 games and they came back to beat Boston in a tiebreak? Guess what team Roger picked, the Yankees. And what was that first baseman's name, the one who let the ball go in between his legs, was it Buckner? I think they lost that series.

Forgotten? Not really; more like mentally edited it out.
Winning the Series? Massively agreeable.
Losing the Series? Harsh, but still -- it was the World Series; useful as a better-than-thou lash regardless.
Losing to Boston? Agony.
Losing to Boston AND THEN Boston winning the Series? Inconceivable.
It just gets edited out.
