Being a Devil Ray fan takes a special type of person. You have to go to the game just for the love of watching the game and not expecting anything more. Then when it happens, you'll deservere it. I know this first hand. I have been an Angels fan for the last 20 years. Up until 2001, I would take my son to the game just for the fun of being there. That was it. Then after the 2001 WS, all the "fans" come out of the wood work and now the place is a total zoo. Also, Joe Maddon is a gem so it's only a matter of time before the D-Rays are contenders.

well i am a yanks fan but they have great talent but they trade it away because lets face it florida is not a baseball state they could give a sh** about it and the fans that are down there are mostly red sox and yankees and other major teams fans , the rays use the excuse that no 1 comes to the games so they cant get money to buy players and put out a winning team this is a correct statement but who would want to go to the rays games when the stadium is a dump(even thought recently they have made it nicer and it still sux) and they are cheap and losing is a way of theres

i dont think the rays have enough fans in the tampa area. maybe they need to find out a better fan base and just move the team. im sure there are alot of other cities that would love to have a mlb team.

*Losing--sorry too many people cannot spell this word correctly.
Anyway, I don't think there are more than 100 Devil Ray fans even in Florida. So, the answer is maybe.

I definitely know who the Devil Rays are. Their AAA affiliate, the Durham Bulls, play right up the road from me.
