How can Met fans seriously think they will win The World Series?
First of all they have to get past St. Louis (that won't be easy), and IF they did, how can they really think they will get past The Tigers pitching staff? The Tigers team ERA in the post season is 2.92!

I am a Brit. ( So - I apologise)
I need to ask you Americans (or Brits) :-

1. Why do you wear fancy dress gear ? Why do you wear the fancy pants. ( Are you all woofters or cherry boys or something else ?)
2. OK - accepted that you do, how come you don the fancy tight pants ?
3. Why does the pitcher (if he is right handed), put his opposite leg up like a ballet dancer ? Is this some kind of sexual inuendo ?
4. How come the umpires or maybe you call them referees, have to wear 'concentration' type outfits.
5. Why is most of the game spent not actually playing the game ?
6. Why do they spit as far as they can all over the baseball ground as if to score a home run ?

Tickets for the world series went on sale this morning at 10:00 am and I selected four tickets in the mezz at 190 a piece at 10:00 am and aprox. 30 seconds. This is for the first game this Saturday in Detroit. It had me wait 15 minutes while it 'searched' and after this time was up it basically said I was s.o.l. I only wanted to resell them at 5 or 600 a piece!!!!!!!!

Regardless of how offensive those remarks or may not have been - and they weren't nearly as bad as the Shawn Green comments he made a couple of years ago (Jews and money, ha ha) - I have to admit that I'm glad he's gone for whatever reason.

I just heard something on the radio that made me think.

I have been a die hard Tiger fan since 1976, and although I was happy to see people jump on the bandwagon, I couldn't call them real fans. I guess I never thought about the fact that younger Tiger fans never got to see the Tigers when they were a great team and therefore really never had a team to fall in love with.

Could this start a new generation of Tigers fans or are they really just bandwagon fans for this year?
