The first thing he'd tell them is that they should get rid of all their non-white players. Actually, he might not even want to say anything because he'd hate the idea of a black or Hispanic man in a Tiger uniform.
Sorry, but the guy was a racist.

Ty Cobb has been dead for almost 50 years. He played during the early part of the the 1900's. I doubt he had any positive impact on society then or now unless you want to use him as a bad example of what a decent human being he was. Most of his contemporaries despised the man. When his own Detroit Tiger teammates wouldn't have anything to do with him, then you know what a terrible person he must have been. When Cobb died, very few of his former teammates bothered to show up for his funeral. Ty Cobb was a mean and nasty ******* in his day. He was an in-your-face racist and was thought to be pretty intolerant back in the day when racism was acceptable. He though of nothing to cut corners and cheat. He loved to slide into bases spikes up. The man even sharpened his spikes before games. He was one of the finest players to ever play the game. Definitely the finest during the dead ball era of the early part of the 20th century. On the same token he was an equally worse human being. That being said, he did have some positive things about him. He was said to have been a supporter and donated lots of money to children's charities. He built a children's hospital in his hometown in Georgia. He also was a keen investor and knew how to play the stock market. He was said to have made more money in investments than he ever did his entire baseball career.

Ty would probably think that the Tigers (And all other teams ) lack intesity. He'd tell them "Come on, let's go swig a few, come back, get a little rough, and win this damn thing !"

He would say that there are too many black guys. And he would tell them to not hit home runs and try to spike the opposition more on the basepaths. Cobb was a dirty player.

Of course he would love the team in the playoffs, as far as what he would tell them:
I never could stand losing. Second place didn't interest me. I had a fire in my belly. ~ Ty Cobb

I'm not sure what he would think as he would be well over 100 years old.
