I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of the drivers. I would like to meet all of them especially of course Jeff Burton.

What do you think RCR is thinking and what do you think they will do next year to prevent another year like this one when it comes to the engine department?

I'm just getting into NASCAR and I've been following the chase and all, and I went on wikipedia and on NASCAR's website to read how the points system works. What I don't understand is how Tony Stewart was in front of Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson for almost the whole race at Talladega but in the update for the Chase for the points that was showing on the screen during the race showed Tony Stewart get into 1st place(Chase-wise) mid-race and then pull back into 4th place in the Chase, and all of this while he was still in front of the 24 and the 48, and the 07 for that matter. From my understanding, you get points for leading a lap, leading the most laps, and ending position. Can someone explain to me how it really works and how Tony was bouncing all over the place in the points standings while he was constantly in front of both of them? Thanks.

Should NASCAR forget about this silly top 35 in points nonsense and figure out a different way to qualify for a race? I think it stinks that the top 8 qualifying for this past weekend were go or go home guys. They claim it is to protect their sponsors that have been loyal to the sport, not that I am a huge MWR fan, but what about UPS & NAPA? Valvoline, Dominos, and Marathon to name a few more. What about the others that are trying to break into the sport such as 360 OTC, Red Bull and State Water Heaters. I propose that all cars/teams registered for the race make their 2 qualifying laps as normal, the top 20 get a free pass into the race and the rest run out in 2 20 lap qualifier/heat races to fill the remaining 23 spot in the field. The only time that season points would come into play is during the rare occasion that weather prevents the normal event of qualifying. In those instances the current rule would prevail.
Thoughts?

I still have a hard time understanding why people show the hate like they do on gordon. I bet it might be because dale jr. could not even carry gordons helmet much less be mentioned in the same breath as gordon as far as who is the better driver. Thank god jr has the old mans name backing him. It sure is not the wins he has over the years.

Tony Stewart just doesn't have the teamwork with his partner as Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon have. Right at the end of the race, after running so hard up front, Tony lost his position. He was high on the track and went low to block Jimmy Johnson from passing, then when he went to the top of the track he got burried to the 7th position. It seems like Tony chokes right at the end of the race. What is he doing at the end of the race that keeps him from winning?

These are the words of Will Gray.

"This is the first time we've raced a complete combo of RCR and DEI equipment, all their plate guys and our plate guys working together," said Gray, as he packed up the No. 1 transporter Sunday in the garage. "I hate to guess ... at the test, a piston in the No. 1 car blew that engine and we thought we had the problem fixed, but it is hard to turn around 16 engines in the matter of weeks."

Gray said the crew didn't pay close enough attention to what happened, but did the best they could with the limited time available.

These are words that could only come from a very underfunded or mismanaged team.

Nascar should keep the current format except after some also ran crashes during the green-white-check the race is not over (and this always seems to happen). They clear the track and then have only the top ten cars restart for a second green-white-checker. If there is a wreck at that point they race to the finish. With only ten cars out there there is no chance of anyone running into the wrecked car or cars and hurting someone.

Don't you think he did so great! Even though he didn't get the finish to show for it he proved that he could still run up front with the qualifying setup. I am really proud of him and his team for what they accomplished today!

Great move by Jr to be leaving DEI, at least he won't have any more blown engines!!! Richard Childress needs to do something quick!!!! I don't understand, its not like money is a problem, Why don't they have engines that can last a whole race??????

The blown engines obviously have to do with Teresa getting back at Jr, but why take it out on Burton and Truex? Any theories?
