NASCAR is big business. DEI and RCR will get the problem figured out this week. They will find the root cause. They cannot afford to have this happen. They interviewed Rick Hendrick about that, he said he knew they would find and correct the problem. Like Mr. Hendrick said-everyone forgot about all the blown engines his team had a couple of years ago. It happens.

...If Dale Sr was still alive I'm sure from time to time there would still be an occasional engine problem. The difference would be is Dale Sr would be able to recognize the solution easier than Miss T.
....Put all conspiracies aside maybe with all of the parts swapping on the engines between DEI parts and RCR parts they can use a process of elimination to determine if they are receiving 1) defective parts or 2) is it human error in the assembly of the engines?
...Which ever the case it will not be something they fix over night. RCR has the experience and technology to pull DEI out of this deal with the engine problems. I think it would be safe to say that by next year they should have a hold of the problem.
...Also they have 4 or 5 defective engines from this past race to do comparisons with. With that they should be able to narrow the problems down soon. Richard Childress will not let this keep happening. I feel it will be a big benefit from their partnership in the future once they get these engines worked out.

The two companies merged their engine department, it is not RCR or DEI, it is both, but I have to believe the problem is from the DEI components seeing as how, RCR was not having this problem, until the merger with DEI. They are going to have to work hard to figure it out. Honestly they should also be using the R07 motor from GM, why they are still on the old engine is a wonder to me, it is obvious they do not have the horsepower or the reliability to stay with Gibbs and Hendrick at this point in time, and if they want to be competative next year they are going to have to make the switch.

First of all it isn't a matter of if Sr. would kick some butt or head the problem off before it happens. These things have happen before with other teams and it is corrected.
How ever I read where there was an indication there was a possible problem with the enginee during testing and the engin tuner said they didn't have time to check everyone of the engines. This is where Dale Sr. would have flipped out.

They need to get something together on these engines, since it was mostly DEI earlier in the yr having the blown engines, now its both teams RCR and DEI.. I think Dale Sr would be stomping mad, if he were alive and still driving, he'd get both engine shops jumping to get this problem fixed....

Certainly not. This is why DEI needed Jr to take charge.
Teresa can't fix this and Max is a great guy but he has no racing experience. With this situation they just have to take the engine departments word for what is happening. Not a good thing.

He absolutely would not have put up with having a top five car each and every week, and getting a DNF instead. Sure an occasional engine failure happens, but this has been past the point of rediculous.

No. Dale would have continued testing to make sure the equipment was top notch. If he was going to cut something to save money it wouldn't be from the car.
