Great move by Jr to be leaving DEI, at least he won't have any more blown engines!!! Richard Childress needs to do something quick!!!! I don't understand, its not like money is a problem, Why don't they have engines that can last a whole race??????

Ok, let me get this straight, an engine builder has 7 cars with the same engine (3 RCR, 4 DEI), and 4 of them self-destruct including 3 of the 4 DEI cars and a 5th is running on 7 cylinders, yet it's Jr's fault his engine blew. The logic here escapes me completely. Get a clue people from 2 engine related DNFs in 06 to 6 this year, something's rotten in the state of North Carolina, and someone needs to take a long hard look at their engine dept.

One thing for sure, a driver who runs a racecar as intended will find deficiencies in the engine department. It's up to the engine builder to construct to the driver's ability, not the responsibility of the driver to lower performance to keep a freakin' engine together. Leading the most laps pays more points.

A driver can lag the field all day, but if the engines won't perform and stay together when it's money time, what's the point?

Prediction for 2008: Junior will lead more laps, win races and lose fewer engines.

The combined total of engines lost by DEI/RCR in 2007 is staggering; neck and neck with Toyota, a start-up operation. Ridiculous!

If you’re blowing engines while trying to lead and win races at any point during the season, the engines just outright suck.

I’m a firm believer in win or blow it up trying! If it blows up, build better engines.

Junior isn't over-revving his engine, he can't when he's in top gear. How fast can the guy be!? Face it Hendrick Motorsports has way better technicians, and that's where Junior is going to shine. That guy can make a car go, he just needs a "real" race car. I could see someone over-revving on a roadcourse, but even then all you need is a rev-limiter. I would put a rev-limiter on my motor if I blew 6 in one season, just for the sake of never blowing one again. Technically, if the motor is built skillfully enough, you should be able to go past your redline by at least 500 r.p.m and basically up to 1000 before parts start flying. Somewhere along the line, these technicians aren't innovative enough to be working in the racing industry, and some people need to be replaced by people with more technical acuity. I feel bad for DEI, because if it ever gets to the point where Martin Truex Jr. thinks he's getting shortchanged, DEI could end up going downhill very fast. I bet a lot of teams would like to have Martin Truex driving for their team. The guy's a commodity Somebody is messing up, and the blame needs to be placed on the weak links, and corrections need to be made.

i think of Robby's very probably magnificent. i've got pronounced it till now and that i will say it returned. DEI has discovered the thank you to get super ability from the R07. they simply have not discovered the thank you to get it to stay at the same time. it may look very actual attempting to me that in case you have been going to attempt something experimental it may be with Jr and not the driving force you have interior the chase. optimistically they learn all they might now and would supply their drivers with high quality engines next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days which will make amazing ability and stay at the same time. If it performs out like i think of it is going to, DEI would be greater advantageous interior the long-term for doing what they have been, and Jr would be greater perfect off whilst he gets to a clean group.

Not sure what the problem is with the DEI engines but by reading the comments here it seems that some people think Teresa is doing it on purpose. I think you people need to lay off Teresa. Do you REALLY think she likes LOSING all that money just to spite Jr???? get real....

Good question, was asking myself the same thing.. Either someone isn't doing their job right, or they got a shipment of bad parts? I do think they need to make a change to who oversees engine building. It's not uncommon to have a engine problem or two in a 36 race season for a whole race team, but to have as many as DEI has had, has got to give the teams a sense of uncertainty as to the owners desire to win.

DEI and RCR are using the new ROS engine and Gibbs isnt, Im not sure if Hendrick is using the new motor or not. It could be that they havent worked the bugs out of the new engines yet.

Somebody in the engine shop screwed up. Junior & Paul Menard were supposed to get the 2 bad ones, not Truex. Junior won't have to worry about bad engines next year. It is pretty sad to watch him do so good then all of a sudden, poof!!

When they interviewed him after the race he was in good spirits. He does not complain, he gives props to his team always. I would be looking for somebody to cuss out at the very least. Some body's head would have to roll.I felt bad for Burton and Truex too. Can't wait till he moves to HMS.
To all you Jr. haters you can kiss my #@*!!!

Hey Dalejr4ever,
You should not put such a thing in writing. There is a law called Terroristic Threats that is a Felony in all 50 states.
Just a heads up.

The internal componants of these motors are "computer" made. That is they are all cut ,shaoed, polished and manufactured exactlly alike. Thus in theory if one has a part failure then they all will.
Also each driver applies diverent pressure to the engine and drive train in the way hedrivers. This could cause engine failure.
