There seemed to be alot of wrecks/accidents in the 1998-2003/4 years. With them seemed to be quite a few accidents.
I know it was Adam Petty and Dale Sr. I heard there were more. What others were there?

Which driver do you want to take the Cup this year? And which one do you think will take it?

It seems to me that no matter what the other teams do to win, they just can't compete with the bigger names of NASCAR. I believe this sport has become way to mainstream and sponsership heavy. This sport is nothing like the NFL when anyteam can win any game. Some NFL teams rise to greatness one year then the next year can't muchless win a game. Should NASCAR regulate teams to make sure that not only the measurements on the cars the same, but that teams have the same chance due to testing, money, sponsorship, etc. Maybe there should be some sort of salary cap on NASCAR teams.

I'm not a NASCAR fanatic but have some interest in it.

But, the way that the Chase is set up keeps me unimpressed.

I think that the top 5 spots in a race should get points. No one else gets any points.

I don't understand the concept of giving points for leading laps and not winning. I could care less if my favorite driver didn't lead any laps until the end of the race.

I don't understand why someone who has won a handful of races should "fall behind" because he gets in a wreck early in the next race and, thus, can't earn any points.

What counts should be winning or being in the top 5. Nothing else should carry any weight.

I also don't believe that a guy who comes in 5th several times is worth as much as a guy who wins 1 or 2 times.

Any fans of NASCAR want to "enlighten" me?

I love the look of NASCAR cars. Seeing a car racing around painted with the Mountain Dew logo and colors got me interested in NASCAR when I was younger (Can anyone remember the driver and number of that car?). My favorite car all-time was the yellow and red #5 "Kellogg's Corn Flakes" car driven by Terry Labonte.

Stewart was fined $25,000 and docked 25 points by NASCAR for the stellar “BS” bomb he dropped during his TV interview after his win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Johnson said D*** yesterday after the race during his interview....not the same word but shouldn't the same standards apply for everyone? Just wondered...I am thinking NASCAR might be showing some favoritism.

I hope real race fans give me a honest answers. I know you probably hate Jimmie Johnson, but even you have to admit his season is pretty amazing. JJ has won 10 races, 4 in row, and could possibly win back to back championships.

Why do certain drivers earn more money than other drivers at races? For example, this Sunday, Jeff Gordon made more money than Kyle Busch yet Kyle finished ahead of Jeff by two positions. What determines how much you earn?

2007-11-11 17:57:05 · 10 answers · asked by Balla 1

Ok, I'm not a fan or a hater, I'm just looking at this statistically. All these reports are saying that JJ has the cup locked up.

The reports all say that he can lock it up with a 18th place finish or better. I don't know about you, but it doesn't seem that easy to just finish 18th...is it? Can you explain to me how a driver can be so assured of a better than 18th finish. Is it that unlikely that he could crash and not finish at all?

I don't really follow Nascar I was just curious how this worked.

i have read mixed reviews. some people like it but most people hate the chase. what do u think? should there be changes to the chase, or should the chase be completly done away with and go back to the other points system?

also if u think there should be changes, please tell me what you would change.
