The chase is a "dog and pony" show to asure certain deep pockets a way to make a profit by over charging fans to see "the same" group of drivers race.
NASCAR's new leadership has gone soft and gives into the pressure of certain people. There is no backbone in the organization.
With rule changes all year and lack of inforcement of rules the season has been dull and lack-luster.
We the fans pay hard money to see 43 cars race on a given race day to end up seeing a race between the sam half dozen cars every week.Something is wrong in the sport and the sanctioning body is a fraid to point fingers cause they will lose money.
the chase blows.

Should have left everything alone. WE didn't need the chase. Back not so many years ago they reward every driver for their performance through the season. If you finished in the top bunch every race you could win the championship with out winning a race. Consistency. The drivers or people with influence didn't like that, they wanted it so if a driver wins a race he would get at least more points than in the past and this would reward the drivers there due for the win.
AND THEY CAME UP WITH THE CHASE!!
GO FIGURE THAT ONE OUT!!!
The chase is a play off with out physically eliminating players only on paper are they gone. It just doesn't work.
At the end of the season the top ten are going to be the top ten no matter what. You don't have to segregate the rest of the field like they have. We are grown ups (well some of us) we know with out this ridiculous chase.

I liked the old system better. All the complaining is because we have a boring HMS dominated chase and if there was no chase the results would have been the same but may have favored the other HMS driver but everything would have been between those two anyway.
There is no perfect way, no matter the formula some fans will complain. The favorites are winning and there is lots of complaining, if the 12th place car was winning there would be lots of complaining.
However it is set up, the champion will be whoever does best under those rules.

Let me start off by saying that I am a Jeff Gordon fan and yes, I think NASCAR needs to tweak the Chase somewhat. First of all, I would somehow put a premium on what a driver does during the "regular' season. Jeff ahd a 300 point lead basically erased in one week when the Cahse started. I think a driver should only have to forfeit 25 to 30% of their accumulated lead once the Chase begins and wins just have to give a driver some kind of bonus during the regular season. I know they gave 10 points for every win a driver got this year, but that's not enough.
Next, I think there needs to be change year-to-year on which races make up the Chase. I knew Jeff would struggle during the last five races because he's never done well at any of them. Yes, I know he won at Phoenix in the spring, but that was a fluke. They need to alternate years with at least a road course and some tracks that don't get as much exposure like Dover,Pocono, or hey, wouldn't we all like to see the Brickyard in the Chase? I know I would.
i congratulate al you #48 fans and hope you enjoy your dominance right now. Thank your lucky stars Jeff hates these last couple of tracks in the Chase. I hope NASCAR will examine the Chase format and adjust it as needed. I really think they will now too, now that Bruton Smithhas bought the New Hampshire track. They do not like the idea of his tracks hosting so many of these Chase races.

It is the way that the championship is decided, and that's all there is to it. I hope they give up on trying to change it, the Chase itself was hard enough to accept, let alone the changes.

this year's been the most boring chase. I would've liked to have seen a closer points race down to the finish w/ all 12 chasers still in the running (it would give ALL of the NASCAR fans a chance to stay tuned in).

I prefer the old system. I think whoever runs best for all 36 races should be the champion

I like the old better, the real winner should be good all year not just at the end of the year.
