I'm re-watching the japanese grand prix where kubica came into a corner alongside lewis and colided with him causing lewis to spin. I didn't notice at the time but kubica did get a drive through penalty for it. I'm asking because i must have seen at least half a dozen incidents like this duing the season where drivers have made contact and spun out, but only kubica seems to have been penalized for it.

He says Jeff Gordon is the best Nascar driver ever. He's full of of it. There are plenty of drivers who are better than Gordon. For example Richard Petty, Earnhardt Sr., and David Pearson. Ricky Craven is just a washed up never-has been driver.

Mine is Le Mans-type racing (American Le Mans Series in the US, Le Mans Series in Europe)...the cars are fantastic and actually have a lot in common with current and future road cars, the racing is just as tight and competitive as NASCAR/IRL (I was in turn 17 at Sebring and WATCHED the GT2 leaders banging fenders for the win at the end of 12 hours; the 10-hour Petit Le Mans was nose-to-tail for the last 3 hours between the awesome turbodiesel Audi and the lightweight V8 Porsche....

It seems that Jeff and Jimmie are starting to become competitive rivals, and may be for a few more years to come. With that said, should Jeff sell his share of the 48? It seems more like a conflict of interest for him. When it comes down to it, Jeff definetely prefers to see the 24 win, rather than the 48. And I dont see Jeff celebrating in Victory Lane when Jimmie wins, like most owners do. It also seems a little unfair to Jimmie, to have to compete against Jeff when he is 1/2 owner of his car. If Jimmie wins the chase, and Jeff comes in 2nd, I dont think Jeff will be very happy about that. I dont know, is there something I am missing? Thanks.

Why Does NASCAR insist on saying that Jeff Gordon is going for his 5th Nextel Cup Title, when even Jeff Gordon says that NO it's NOT his 5th Nextel Cup Title. It's his FIRST Nextel Cup Title. That he has 4 Winston Cup Titles. Why is Nextel so bent on trying to re-write history? Tony Stewart has made similar statements about how many championships He has too and exactly what they are.

I think that the bump and run that Jeff Gordon put on Dale Jr. this past Saturday night is just one way of letting him know that he may be working for him, but he's not giving any of his wins up! Jeff even told his spotter that he didn't want to race that 8 car all night!
I know that part of this is do to the chase, but HMS now has three great drivers with three large egos that are going to haft to be fed!
Dale Jr. was hired by HMS for one reason and one reason only, he's a money maker with that large fan base.
I'd give anything to be at the meeting where they discuss who's going to concentrate on winning which races next year!!! Poor old Casey Mears is bound to get left out!
I see a lot of problems coming, but an even a higher level of domination by HMS next year!!!
Can Ricky H. keep all these guys from running over each other?
It should be fun!

How much of Jimmie Johnson's race team does Jeff Gordon currently own. He is always referred to as the team owner but I don't think he owns the controlling portion of the team.

combine the vast amount of money that the Toyota empire has for research and technology and combine it with the great engine builders and mechanics @ JGR, plus Smoke, Shrub, and Denny Hamlin as a stable of drivers it wont take long. It only took about 3 or 4 years for them to take over and dominate the Craftsman Truck Series!!!!

This is a couple questions rolled int one rant!

Dale Sr. ran hard to finish in the money to give his family money to eat. All I hear about now is 10 y/o's that are running Go-Karts and in an ARCA Car by 15. Is the fact that today many drivers that show a bit of promise are handed everything they could ever need hurting the image of nascar?

When was the last time a guy that you could relate to in victory lane?

With that said if I do not get my son in a Go Cart or quarter midget by 12 will he have no shot of racing?

Be honest did you like NASCAR more when there was less $$ and more unpolished drivers?

still wearing the #8 or displaying memorabilia with the #8 on it? I have tons of it, and I'm still gonna wear my jackets and t-shirts. Just gonna have to mix it up with #88. Unfortunately I still associate the #88 with Dale Jarrett, and the Big Brown Truck!
