I think that the bump and run that Jeff Gordon put on Dale Jr. this past Saturday night is just one way of letting him know that he may be working for him, but he's not giving any of his wins up! Jeff even told his spotter that he didn't want to race that 8 car all night!
I know that part of this is do to the chase, but HMS now has three great drivers with three large egos that are going to haft to be fed!
Dale Jr. was hired by HMS for one reason and one reason only, he's a money maker with that large fan base.
I'd give anything to be at the meeting where they discuss who's going to concentrate on winning which races next year!!! Poor old Casey Mears is bound to get left out!
I see a lot of problems coming, but an even a higher level of domination by HMS next year!!!
Can Ricky H. keep all these guys from running over each other?
It should be fun!

In time Jr can dominate at HMS, not right off the bat..He is going to have to learn the ropes there just like tony jr.. I'm sure Rick H can keep all these guys focused..Yes, I'm sure he is going to have to get on the radio to all of them from time to time,..And no one should forget Casey Mears, he's part of the TEAM as well, and Casey wants to win as much as the other three do..Its going to be fun next yr I can't wait..The only problem I see if Jr comes in and starts winning right from the
beginning, OMG you have not heard whinning yet. True Jr has a huge fan base, so does Jeff and Jimmie... HMS has enough money without having to even think about sovenir sales that Jr is going to bring...Its going to be fun come 2008
and even more fun come chase time next yr..God if all 4 of them make the chase...I'll be on Prozac by then..
Go Dale Jr & HMS in 2008

The bump was questionable, but like someone said he got in Gordon's line and im a diehard earnhardt fan. If you were listening to the people talking he was running the high side then he decided to go down and block getting in Gordon's line. Just Gordon didn't have enough time to react without wrecking, and taking out a bunch. Dale Jr. wasn't hired on for more money, RCR offered him more money than Hendrick, he went where he felt comfortable where he would get good gear and good runs without blown engines. I think if these guys are egomaniacs and get a full head of themselves at hendrick they can be pretty good. Let's just hope they all 3 dont get selfish, then we could have a disaster and see a suprise out of Casey Mears and getting some wins. :]] we'll have to wait and see.

...The bump and run was nothing more than Dale Jr moving down in front of Gordon's line the same way Kyle Busch moved up in front of Dale Jr's line. I think it served everyone right that that happened because Gordon put the bumper to Jr the same way Jr put the bumper to Kyle. It shows that if someone moves in your line and you have a run then they can get moved. That is what happens when someone blocks. That is what happened to Kyle except Jr hung on to it.
...Now as far as the reason that Rick hired Dale Jr I disagree with you. Yes he brought money and popularity but I think Rick knows there is talent there also. I don't take Gordon's talent from him because I am a Jr fan and for a Gordon fan to take the talent away from Jr because he is a Gordon fan is a little uncalled for. Let's be adults here.
...As far as who is winning races I want to see them race hard. If me and you were in the same room we could have a time wishing each other's driver spun out trying to keep up with the other. It would all be in fun.
...Also let me throw a bug in your ear. Jr brought a complete racing organization with him with crew chiefs, cars, drivers (more than just one), a 7 post shaker, shop, and more. I imagine Rick Hendrick doesn't need Jeff's approval to make a deal with Dale Jr.
..I imagine Rick will tell them to race hard but just don't wreck each other. That is what he does now.

Currently, Jr's contract with DEI makes him the highest paid guy in NASCAR. Rick Hendrick made it clear that Jr won;t even be the highest paid member at HMS, much less in NASCAR. He is going to have to earn his money now and not have it handed to him because of his name. He is going to have to out perform Gordon and Johnson now, something I doubt he's capable of doing on a weekly basis.

I think both Rick AND Jeff, are doing this as a favor,to BOTH Jr. and Sr.??? #3 taught Gordie a lot of thing's about getting around some of these tracks [a little easier] and, like you said,Rick can only profit from all of this, but I also think that Rick is a smart enough BUSINESS man to realize, that Jr. did kinda hold this sport together through some sad times.
Give O'le June-bug to the end of his contract at HMS,and he'll end back up at DEI ??? Make things better back there.

I think its going to be fun to watch But no as long as Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson are doing so well Dale will have to have to keep up with them. Dale can't ride his daddys name forever! But am going to watch to find out right!.

One of you statements is incorrect. Junior doesn't have an overinflated ego. But hopefully driving a Hendrick car, will boost his ego. Hendrick Motorsports may dominate NASCAR again next year.

I think eventually Jr. will dominate HMS. He will soon prove himself as the driver that he is. He will have to compete with the other three for his own spot on the track, just like everybody else, and just like he has always done. Difference is, next year, he will be doing it with better equipment.
red: Jr.'s # is 8 until next season. Then it will be 88.
Rick will warn all his drivers not to wreck each other, just as he did last weekend. But, what happens on the track may prove to be a different story!
Go Jr.>>>>
