JGR will be just fine, I have no doubt about that. Joe and JD HATE losing- so do their racers.
OK by me. I;ve never owned a Chevy and never will.

They will do very well. Toyota finally will have a team that does not have to qualify on time. JGR knows how to build a race car. There may be some short term loss in performance compared to the big chevy teams but in time it will be a great move. I expect to see JGR dominate with Toyota in the years to come.
As to next year, at least one of JGR will make the chase. Look at the string of performances Dave Blaney has been putting together in a Toyota as of late, mix that with the JGR team's experience and the will be winning races in 2008.

Next year they will do fairly well...and better and better as time goes. Remember Toyota has improved throughout this year with really weak teams building the cars. Put all of Toyota's money into an experienced racing program like the one Gibbs has and drivers like Smoke and Hamlin...they will be dominating the scence within 5 years the same way the dominate the truck series currently. Remember Gibbs wasn't always a Chevy guy...Labonte and Smoke both won Cup titles in Pontiacs before they went to Chevy!!!

You're correct that Coach knows what he is doing. Toyota actially hasn't done that poorly, considering that they have begun to get top ten finishes in only their first year in Cup. With Gibbs Racing building the engines, and with the high quality of talent he has on the team, there is no doubt that JGR will find Victory Lane early and often next year.
I don't think NASCAR sells cars the way they used to, so it doesn't matter to me what the headlight and taillight decals look like on the CoT.

I think they will be a team to contend with. I can see Toyota putting a lot of money in an established team like JGR, unlike Mikey's team that was brand new. Toy's have done pretty good in the CTS, and now I think we'll be surprised next year in Cup.

It's the driver, not the car. So when Tony Stewart wins a couple races, don't think Toyota is that great, because Hendrick Motorsports and DEI are gonna swoop with their Chevrolet powered cars. How do you think Jeff Gordon would look in a Dodge?

Toyota is spending the big $$. I'm not a toyota fan..I'm a chevy person all the way..They picked a great team to get behind...so we all will just have to wait and see..They could pull off a couple wins, if not we all will be listening to Smoke all season long, he likes to win, not sure if he has enough patience for this or not....

Gibbs wouldn't have switched unless he thought that his crews could get Toyota to Victory Lane and competing for the top spot when it comes to this manufacturing "war". I have a feeling they might be off the first two or three races, but will flourish next year.

I think toyotas are strong car and they arent performing well because there isnt any well developed organization that has toyotas but when jgr has it it will perform better.(no offense to the other toyota teams cause they are coming about with blaneys two consecutive top 10s and waltrips pole and vickers leading laps and all)

We will not see JGR struggle the way we saw all the start-up teams struggle this year. It's obvious Mikey had no idea what he was doing, but I think it will be interesting to see what an established team can do in Toyotas.
