or will he possibly run the number 3 since Richard Childress pays the big bucks to keep that number? He is taking his sponsor with him, and he will only go with a Chevy.

I'm wondering how fans are going to behave next year when a DEI car or driver is announced next year. On the one hand people are upsett because they feel anger towards Theresa Earnhardt and right now she is DEI so that makes her and anyone connected to DEI enemy #1, but then on the other hand this is the Great Dale Sr. company, the daddy of the Boy Wonder we know and love as JuneBug, could anyone really find it in their hearts (or nerve which ever the case may be) to boo anything that has the name Earnhardt attached to it. And how would Jr react to fans booing his fathers dream team? I'm looking forward to your thoughts.

As I am new to NASCAR, why does Petty qualify with a speed of 159 mph and Riggs doesn't with a speed of 161 mph? Does it have to do with owner points?

Who is your favorite driver and why?

Why is everyone asking the same Dale Jr questions over and over and over.
There's a race at Darlington this weekend, CLint Bowyer is on the pole and there's 42 other drivers beside Dale Jr.
Let's talk about that and just wait and see what happens with Jr.
Nothing is going to happen with him for a while anyway

Another day of qualifying and another day Michael Waltrip goes home! This time he is taking Dale Jarret with him! Will Michael or even Dale make another race all year??

If Jr. ends up not driving a Chevy next year, would you still be a fan? Personally, I dont care what he drives as long as he does good and hes happy with his decision :)

ok, so I LOVE Kasey Kahne, he's down to Earth, cute, and a good driver, but what is up with him this year!?! Last year he had 6 wins! Now, he's lucky if he even finishes a race! Hes a really good driver, is it just a crappy Dodge or something? Please help me understand!

Is it because the cars are slower? Lack of star power among the drivers? It is still a big event but it is no where near what is once was.

Everyone remembers Earnhardt Sr. driving the #15 Wrangler Ford Thunderbird for Bud Moore. Now Jr. has a chance to repeat history. I think Bud has retired but maybe Jack Roush or Robert Yates or even the Wood Brothers could take Dale on, and maybe get the old #15 for him to drive like his father did in 82 and 83. Bring back the glory days of racing with the #15 Earnhardt Ford. Thoughts?............

I think he should drive for RCR and drive #3.

He'd probably have the best luck at hendricks. I wonder what his fans would think of that.

Jeff Gordon proably wouldn't like all the attention on Jr.

While some debris obviously requires a caution, that certainly doesn’t mean that a caution needs to last six, eight, or ten laps. At many tracks, the crews can drive their little pickup trucks to the spot in question and pick the stuff up and get off the track in no time at all. And for heavens sake, follow that effort with the camera. Under no circumstances should a frivolous caution be thrown because someone has managed to have a really great day to the point that they have a one half to three quarters of a lap over their closest competitor. Everyone will just have to race and bit harder and pray luck falls his way.

Watched the press conference, and Jr said the #8 belonged to DEI. But then read online under one of the sports commentators stories that under his BUD contract that Budweiser reserves the right to terminates their contract if he, Dale Jr, does not drive the #8 car. Does anyone know or heard about this? AND could he not "buy" the #8 from DEI, or whomever/whatever Team/Owner he goes to could they not buy it out?

Give me your odds.

Casey Mears' record is atrocious. He makes Dale Jarret and Michael Waltrip look like they are going at Warp Factor 9.

I see Mears getting the boot and Dale Earnhardt Jr. joining the camp. What are the odds of this happening in your opinion?

Mears has a contract through 2009, and to complicate matters, NASCAR is going to limit the number of teams to four. Mears does not have much pull with his poor showing, so I could see him "asking to be released form his contract" (political correctness), since Hendrick has the power to black-ball him. I bet Mears will opt out so he has a chance to salvage some future in the sport instead of being on the bad side of a powerful figure like Hendrick.

What do you think?

Dale Jr. to RCR? done deal? FOX25(Boston's FOX affiliate) is reporting.......Dale Earnhardt Jr. will soon be racing under the same legendary #3 Chevy that his dad used to race in. A source with direct knowledge of negotiations tells FOX25 that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finalized a deal with Richard Childress Racing Thursday night and an official announcement will be coming soon. At a press conference today to announce that he was leaving the company his late dad built, Dale Jr. said he would have mixed emotions about driving his dad's #3 Chevy, but again, FOX25 has learned that this is a done deal.(FOX25)(5-10-2007)

they have learned that serious talks are going on between Jr and RCR and a deal could be announced as early as tomorrow and that if a deal does go thru that his number would be 33 because he's not ready to drive the #3.

I firmly believe that "Racism is right ON TRACK" as long as it's NASCAR, NHRA or INDY 500. Dale Junior has shown true "racist" colors by quitting DEI rather than prolong a family dispute with his step-mother and roses and a case of bud to manager-sister as well. Checkered flag to you Junior for sportsmanship and risk taking, can I get an Amen or disagreement from fellow fanatics?
