Dale Jr. to RCR? done deal? FOX25(Boston's FOX affiliate) is reporting.......Dale Earnhardt Jr. will soon be racing under the same legendary #3 Chevy that his dad used to race in. A source with direct knowledge of negotiations tells FOX25 that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finalized a deal with Richard Childress Racing Thursday night and an official announcement will be coming soon. At a press conference today to announce that he was leaving the company his late dad built, Dale Jr. said he would have mixed emotions about driving his dad's #3 Chevy, but again, FOX25 has learned that this is a done deal.(FOX25)(5-10-2007)

I'm not for sure what's going on, but Childress is suppose to have a press conferance tomorrow from Darlington.

I'm normally the first one to say lets wait and see what happens. But in reality, this seems like the logical move. Gibbs has pretty much already said that because of Budweiser, they wouldnt take him as a driver because of the company's stance on alcohol. Although HMS still hasnt released an "official" statement, I really dont see him going there, although I've posed the question here (which I will add was before all this) and now what I asked, is being asked on TV. So RCR is the choice, it would be a perfect set up because he said his next move will be a move to make a home for a long time. I still dont think (I could be wrong) that it will be the 3, but it will be the 33, this will set him up for the end of his driving career to get in the 3 car like he wants.

Jayski is a GREAT source of info y'all, like one of the posters said. I've been using this site to gather info for years and if something is wrong or right, they follow up.

I do want to add, maybe again, RCR is having a press conferance tomorrow. My gut says this really is a done deal. I have a source that I use that is very close to everything that is going on, I just recieved an email from him and he said that he's not 100% for sure, but that he heard from a fairly reliable source that this is whats going to happen, but they are not real sure if it will be anounced tomorrow.

Your right SIMONE, it has been denied, but Jr has stated that he will look at Teir 1 and 2 teams before he takes Jr Motorsports to the Cup level and this will be last resort. He wants a team that will give him equipment to be a champion. Gibbs said they were'nt interested because of Bud and the company's stance on alcohol, HMS is a fairly long shot, but it could still happen, RCR is set and ready for him.

Jayski is the best source for first response on things and usually gives a pretty truthful answer to the rumor and is more right than wrong. That being said: I know DW would love to see him in #3 as would most of racing community. I was not a senior fan, but I am a Junior fan, and him in the 3 just seems logically right, and the only other person besides Kerry or a future grandchild I would like to see in the 3. I still think of Junior's interviews stating he would like to be in the 3 eventually but felt he needed to accomplish certain things first before going there. He never stated what, so maybe he is ready. Call me sentimental, but someday whenever that is, he will be there. Certain #'s in Nascar have a logical decendant.

Good luck to Junior no matter what, he has a lot of charisma, and I adore him, no matter who my favorite is. I hope all his dreams come true. DEI are fools to let him go. But if history is any indication in Nascar, sometimes sourful partings are actually sweet for the driver, and his success.

GOOD LUCK JUNIOR!

Boy does FOX get around.
I think every comment on whe Junior ends up is being reported by a FOX station.
I heard this as early as 3 PM yesterday(5-10) but have heard or seen nothing from any team or on their web sites.
Speculation, and the older Senior fans, and some of the die hards wishes he goes to #3.But Junior stated he does not want to drive #3 at this time.
If he does go to Childress look for him in the number 33.

Soooo....Kelly thinks Richard Childress Racing is bigger for Jr. than Hendrick Motorsports? Hendrick Motorsports...the creme de los angeles creme of NASCAR, the excellent of the excellent, the only with a group that is watching to four-peat for the primary time within the historical past of the game...that Hendrick Motorsports? If she tells Jr. to quit his experience at HMS for a place at RCR, she's an fool. If he does it..he is an fool. Perhaps now that Jr's in his mid-30's he must oh, I do not know...begin pondering for...himself?

Wait until it is official. Perhaps when all is said and done, Jr. can get back to the job of doing what he does best racing. You go Jr.!
