Highly unlikely.... RCR and Hendricks are where the big money is right now. Dale is looking for a championship and as bad as I hate to say it, it takes big money to win a championship. My bet is on RCR getting Dale for 2008. RCR has the money and right now it seems they have the dominant cars.

Although it is going to be interesting to see what toyota is going to do. Dale would deffiantly bring talent to the toyota shops that they desperately need and also put toyota on the Nextel map permanently. Remeber, toyota has deep enough pockets to buy just about anyone. I think anyone that follows Nascar knows that toyota will have very competitive teams in the next 5 years. They dominant the truck series and most likely they will do the same with the cars... I know that will hurt the feelings of Ford, Chevy and Dodge people, but it is a matter of time and money.

NO!

Robert Yates has been in the Ford Camp since the 60's. He started in racing at Hollman Moody. They ran the blue and gold 17 that David Pearson had so much success with. Yates has always run Fords with his own team. Yates also partners with Rousch to build almost all of the engines that the Ford teams run every week.

Dale Jr. has said he will be driving a Chevy. GM and their Chevy brand have way too much invested in Jr. to let him go over to Ford. I do not see Yates switching brands.

So.....

Yates = Ford
Jr. = Chevy
Yates + Jr. = NO WAY!

PS: Jr. leaving DEI makes it a lot easier for them to switch to Ford. DEI and Yates have been talking about merging. Maybe there is a Ford in Teresa Earnhardt's future, after all.

Yates and DEI have been talking about a merger. If you read the whole article there are some major deal breakers, like Teresa is loyal to Chevrolet and the fact that Jr is leaving. No where does it say that Jr is going to drive 88. In his press conf. he said he is going to take a few weeks and have some fun then get down to business. Everyone is just guessing at this point.

How did you come to that assumption from that article? Yates said that IF they were able to work something out he COULD drive the #88 since it has 8's in it. No way, no way, no way in hell is Junior going to drive anything other than a Chevy. I'm not a Junior fan, but I know his dedication to Chevrolet. He is going to stay loyal to Chevy. But now I know how rumors get started. People don't fully read and understand what they are readying, or, it could just be wishful thinking.

From the sounds of it he still wants to drive Chevrolet's. The only way that will happen is if Yate's changes to Ford's and Doug Yates has said that he has no intentions of switching to Chevrolet.
