Sports - 12 August 2007

I am 15 and this is my second year running xc. Last year I started the season out with a 25:63 and ended with a 23:59. At the begining of this year I have ran 2 races and both have had a time of around 27:04. How can I get back to my last year's time or better? I go to practices and work hard. Any special techniques that would be good? I would appreciate anything. thanks

Alot of buzz has come out about records with the historic weekend we just had. I have my opinion but I want to know what you think. Which record, just one, will never be broken. In your eyes?


In 1938 Johnny Vander Meer threw back to back no hittters. To accomplish the task of breaking this record you would have to toss 3 consecutive no-no's. YIKES! At-a-boy Mr. Vander Meer! If it wasnt for a shortened carear due to military obligation you would have had some above average statistics Im sure!

I was visiting my friend's dojo yesterday and was holding the focus pads for kick practice. This wasn't true for everyone but the martial artists who had good form and really utilized the snap in the kick had incredible power. I can tell you from holding the pad that if any of those "good" kicks had hit me in the chin or even solar plexus that I would have been knocked out and probably actually hurt quite badly. I was shocked at how powerful those kicks were and many people don't consider that a power kick??

1. rimfire rifle
2. rimfire pistol
3.centerfire rifle
4 centerfire handgun
5 shot gun
and why

1. would be a ruger 10/22 as it is cheaper than 17hmr and 10/22 is a great rifle
2. ruger super single six it is a wheel gun and will shoot 22mag as well as 22lr
3. my M1917 30/06 it is bolt action, accurate, and is a 30/06
4.ruger blackhawk in 44 mag great pistol, single action, and is a good round
5. 12 gauge remington 870 cant go wrong a pump action or 12 gauge
