Yes you can. Its like shooting 38 specials in a 357 Magnum.
Just remember that you CANNOT do it the other way around though.

A 44 Special does not shoot like a 44 Magnum because it's not a 44 Magnum. There is nothing to fix because there is nothing wrong. The 44 Magnum will shoot higher than the 44 Special because it has more recoil. The gun is recoiling while the bullet is still in the barrel; the longer the barrel the greater the difference.

Sure u can.I should know my dad owns a few guns and he's got a 44 Mag and he uses 44 Special in it.

Yes, the .44 Magnum revolver (and some carbines) will also chamber and fire .44 Special ammo. The Desert Eagle .44 Mag. being semi-auto will probably not feed .44 Special rounds from the magazine but should be able to shoot them as singles.
