Jamie walker was practically lights out. Nothing short of magnificant, especially since he was used far and few between. He was an important cog in the teams chemestry last season, keeping things on the lighter side off the field ,and performing great on the field. Can Mesa do for the bullpen, what rogers did last season for the starting rotation?

I've been doing the same routine for some time (shooting hoops a few days a week) to stay healthy and I've become a little bored and uninspired, and as a result I've skipped my "play nights" to sit around and do nothing. 10lbs later I've decided to change things up and thought that some sort of martial arts might do the trick. I figure being in a class enviroment would help motivate me, get me back into shape and maybe even have a little fun. Im not looking to be competitive (even though i do have a mean competitive streak so who knows), or to really learn about kickin butt, but simply as a fitness tool.

Is there a martial art that fits these requirements? Would full contact sports like Boxing, Muy Thai or that-intense-Israeli- self-defense - is-called be best? or would something a little more "art" based like Shaolin Kung Fu or Aikido be more suitable? Or even go something more weapons based like Kendo or Fencing?

Any advice is appreciated.

Should these foreign guys who have been playing PROFESSIONAL baseball for years be considered for rookie of the year. Age makes no difference to me as a 30 year old in triple A player is not facing the same quality of hitting or pitching like someone who is playing professionally in Japan. A 30 year old minor leaguer can win rookie of the year. Now if that same 30 year old plays in japan for 2 + seasons then his rookie status can not be considered in the same light. Japenese professional teams are way better than american minor league clubs.

I am not a football fanatic, but after watching the last England game it doesnt take a genius to see our team is not playing at its full potentiall. The opinion of many is bring back David B. either to play or involved in the management side. The financial cost of all these games, first class hotels, first class flights is a disgrace when we dont see first class results. England needs D.B back in the team and hopefully we would see the spirit the England team once had. And thats just my view, single mum of 2 girls but have loved watching Liverpool for many years.

You have to hand it to Miranda for stepping up to the plate and taking on the undefeated and dangerous Allan Green and beating him convincingly, and now he's coming right back with a fight this summer against the undefeated and dangerous Kelly Pavlik. He's showing that he's willing to fight anyone to earn his title shot, and that's the way boxing should be. Do you think he's the next Middleweight champ?

Why is it that you want people of color to fail? Maybe it's all in my head and I'm wrong, but for some reason it seems like they love to put successful blacks down and hope that they fail or something.

Funny how some feel that Oden and Durant should stay in College? Let me hear your thoughts on this if you are in that camp. My thoughts:

Both highly touted, will go 1 & 2, will be making millions of dollars (salary and commercial deals). Their whole lives are surrounded around basketball, why chance injury, etc. in college when you are a sure bet at the next level. Some say Oden is not ready, are you kidding me? He was ready when he was 10; he is a true center that can anchor any team, alter shots, work the offensive boards, etc. I believe he can be in the NBA and be an instant matchup issue for many teams, he is also strong enough to guard Dwight Howard, Yao, Shaq, etc... if some still believe they are 'not' ready for the NBA, I would put money that every GM across the league would easily give up two/three even four of their bench players for one of these two that are 'not' ready. Rebuttals???
