Jermain Taylor would be an easy pick off for Jones, thats why he is contemplating taking the fight. Couple of reasons Ill say that.
Jones' problems ensued once he started playing the weight game. Jones' blurring speed was at 160, not at 172 or 195. IF Jones could take his time and whittle himself down to 160 again, it would probably take the same effect that it did on Shane Mosely...his speed would return and so would his footwork. Even a NOMINAL up tempo would be WAAAY too fast for Jermain Taylor.
Which brings me to the other side of the fight. Jermain Taylor looked awesome beating up boxers who did it part time. But his reputation as "bad intentions" has taken a real beating since fighting some fighters with pedigree. I have seen NO decisive wins since his first fight with Bernard Hopkins..IMO he LOST both the second fight to Hopkins AND the fight with Winky Wright. But if NOTHING else says he doesnt have finishing power in the elite rounds....this will.
William Joppy lasted twelve rounds with him.

At this stage in Roy Jones Jr.'s career a Jermain Taylor fight is a disaster for him. Just once the blogbaba would like a great fighter to take a page out of Hagler's career, and retire gracefully. Boxing is not kind to old fighters and Taylor lacks a big name KO on his resume. Very dangerous fight for Roy to consider this late in his career.

I would pick Roy Jones Jr. because I believe he could put it all together one last time and beat Taylor because Taylor has looked up to Roy all these years this would be a hard fight for Taylor I don,t think his people would want this fight. News flash Taylor is not unbeatable

Ten years ago, Tayor wouldn't stand a chance against Jones. Now, it's a different story. Judging from his last 4 or 5 fights, it's quite obvious that Jones doesn't have it in him no more. Besides, he's been inactive for some time now so he better retire for good.

Roy is past him prime, Taylor would win a boring 12 round decision. You have to remember they are both counter punchers, so there would be alot of rounds with very few punches thrown.

It's time for RJJ to go home for good and breed fighting chickens. He relied upon his obscene speed and reflexes too much. When they diminished just a tad, he didn't have other skills to fall back on, and became mortal.

if it came down to it i believe that Taylor would win but it would go all rounds and the decision probably wouldn't be unanimous
