First let me say that I am a big Earnhardt fan. Does anyone think Earnhardt knew he was going to die that day. Looking back at some of the footage and interviews I am a firm believer that he knew that 2-18-2001 was his day to go. I had never seen him have a prayer like that at the side of his car before. Also I was watching an ESPN program where Terry Labonte and him were talking about Earnhardt passing him for the most consecutive starts later on that year and Labonte quoted Earnhardt as saying "If I make it that long." And the way he blocked the other cars at the end was not like him. He had a car and the skill good enough to win. He literally blocked them with his life. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am not hating or dissing or trying to darken his legacy. I do believe that sometimes people just know that it is going to be there day to perish.
