If you are in a trailer that has ac/ electricity/ and plumbing, no it is not camping. Camping is in a tent. If you sleep on an air matress in the Hyatt Regency is it camping? no.

I have done tent camping and popup camping and trailor camping . Trailor camping was the best. A/C in the trailor made sleeping great. I remeber laying in the tent and popup camper begging to fall to sleep so I wouldnt feel the mosquitos biteing as the sweat was running off me. We still cooked by the fire . We hiked and swam. Had a great time. Start in a tent or popup and you will be thankful when you get a camper. Better during a storm as well. The only difference to me was the sleeping part. Good luck in what ever you choose.

I have a 5th wheeler and going camping this week end. I tried the tent thing when I was in the military. I did not like being out there when the temp. outside was 109 deg. I perfer my air conditioner anytime.
My wife's sister was with her husband camping in a pop up in Colorado. She was not to happy when a bear got under her bed and started lifting it up and down. When they got home, they bought a drive type camper the next day.

campers are for when you get to old to put up a tent, and your back can't take it any longer sleeping on the ground. or if you plan on going on a long road trip where you stop and camp in alot of different places along the way, it'll save you time. tent camping is alot of fun you can go to better places that a camper can't get to.

Depends on the type of camper you have. If it's one of those that go on the back of a pickup (i.e. no running water or electricity) then yes it's still camping. However, if it's one of those mini-apartments on wheels that has carpeting, a/c, running water, and nice comfy bed - then it's still camping cause you are out in the woods, but your clearly cheating =P

If you are out of your natural environment, and enjoying nature, I don't give a crap if you are in a cardboard box. It's all camping. Because one chooses to rough it does not make it better. We all have different levels of enjoyment. I'm just glad to get people and their kids out of the house and away from their video games. Don't be a camping elitist snob. You will get old one day too.

My neighbors seem to think so. They have a 3rd wheeler that's bigger than our house! I would hate to be the sorry sap to get behind THEM on a mountain road!
