I'm making a religion survey. I just need questions that require a short answer [anywhere from a word, to a paragraph] and try to be specific in your questions!

Thank you all!!

I'm an atheist now but back when I was Buddhist I saw it as a religion. Now I see it as a philosophy. What is it actually?

When was at church one day there was a list of 7 things like "They shall not kill" and so on. Well, one of the commandments was They shall not swear. But I haven't seen it ANYWHERE since. Only on that thingy. It was a Naz. chuch to incase that matters. Does that mean swearing as in swearing to God or cussing or both? I know most of you Christans are going to say cussing is a sin, but is that just what most Christans belive in? What if you do? What will God do to you? If you ask me I would say there just words or some of aren't to bad like da*n it's just like saying dang or darn just in another saying. i don't cuss, but I'm just saying.

Please answer. Thank you.

Do you believe that you should treat others how you want to be treated and not judge them as a bad person because they don’t fit in to your understanding of life? Do you believe you should treat others with understanding and compassion if you want the same in return?

the common phrase of "practice what you preach" is a good notion, but i would take it a step further. practice MORE than preach.
for everyone has their own opinion, & would like to here that version more than any other . thus go on living your life according what you believe will bring you the most bliss. & the peculiar thing about us humans is that we take an interest in people who are happy (almost as much as we do in people who are miserable, but for different reasons albeit). & so then people will inquire about your secret to happiness & then you can preach & get people more interested. & you can spread your belief farther without stepping on as many toes.
so live your life how you see fit, & stop having this many shouting matches over the idea of if there is a god or not, &/or if there is a god, which is is the best representation of him...

...just a thought...

One ministry offered $1000.00 to anyone that could prove that Brigham Young did not teach this.. I'm curious.. Did anyone ever collect?

Here's the proof offered:
Certainly Brigham was not misunderstood since his first counselor, Heber C. Kimball, declared on June 29, 1856, "I have learned by experience that there is but one God that pertains to this people, and He is the God that pertains to this earth--the first man. That first man sent his own Son to redeem the world, to redeem his brethren; his life was taken, his blood shed, that our sins might be remitted. That Son called twelve men and ordained them to be Apostles, and when he departed the keys of the kingdom were deposited with three of those twelve, viz.: Peter, James, and John" (Journal of Discourses 4:1).

namely that Adam is our father and God...Our Father Adam is the man who stands at the gate and holds the keys of everlasting life and salvation to all his children who have or ever will come upon the earth" (Sermon delivered on June 8, 1873. Printed in the Deseret Weekly News, June 18, 1873.)

because He was being tested? If so, why was He willing to hurt innocents to make His point? If not, should we assume that He does not answer prayers?

I am a 13 year old Catholic girl and attend a private school. My friend goes there too, but she isn't Catholic. What can I do to convert her? She's atheist right now and believes people shouldn't decide which religion they'll follow until they're older.

Sorry that was long and confusing but what can I do?

She is such a godly woman. Firm beliefs, long flowing hair and discipline in the faith you could bounce a quarter off of.

However, she just doesn't seem interested. In knowing my Lord I mean. How can I reach out to her and let her know what time it is? I mean, what true faith is?
