It appears to me that scientific research and the Bible indicate otherwise.

For some reason I think church is a good place to meet nice people as friends and maybe date, but I'm not sure I believe in god anymore (if I ever did). So what do I do? It would be lying to keep going right? Are there moral/ethical atheists? I'm afraid if I call myself atheist or agnostic, I'll meet people who use that as an excuse to do whatever they want without being ethical or moral. Help?

Is it bad to go to church just to be social?

I have seen several questions and answers on here that say we don't like science or agree with it. I am a Christian and I love science. There are a lot of christians that are scientists, doctors, nurses or have other jobs that relate to science. We don't believe that we came from monkeys but science hasn't proven that we did.

If the Bible is the Word of God and there is no more new revelation from God then why do Christians rely so much on works outside the bible? Have you been to Lifeway lately and seen the myriad of books to help you with Bible study? I thought all you needed was the good book and the Holy Spirit

These guys came by and one of them was SUPER cute. Alright. What if I "convert" and marry him. Would that be converting for the wrong reasons?

Is it because theologians believe that if we redefine "proof", we can change the meaning to "because the Bible said so", and then they won't need evidence?

If Jesus was a Jew, then why don't the christians become jews too? They always are saying, "What would Jesus do?" Well, for starters, Jesus would follow the jewish beliefs, not create his own. Please enlighten me.

1. What's it mean if someone says "if u have cling to ur life u will lose it"?

2. Are you aloud to listen to music u want? Cuz I heard in the Bible it was written something like "You should listen to more spritual music rather then filthy". Not exactly in them words, but something like that. Is it bad if you don't? What'll happen if you do listent o filthyish music? Is it just his thought you do you HAVE to do it? Cuz I'm kinda thinking you do cuz it's in the Bible yet again God didn't say you have to do it. What if the filthy words are blocked out?

3. What's the great salvation? I heard a person in one of my answers say that. here is the question. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071229123411AA4ccNf&r=w just click the link and I think his/her name will come up as www.peac...
.

Thank you for answering. Please help.

For example, the "new light" concerning the Generation alive in 1914.

Was the old view the truth or is the new view the truth?

Did the truth change?

When you were telling you Bible Studies and people at thedoor that the Gen alive in 1914would see armageddon were you lying or not telling the truth?

"Mitt Romney went a step further in a 1978 interview with the Boston Herald. Talking about the Mormon Church and racial discrimination, he said: "My father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit."

Yesterday, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom acknowledged that was not true. "Mitt Romney did not march with Martin Luther King," he said in an e-mail statement to the Globe."

The Bible says that God created light on the 1st Day, but he created the Sun, Moon, and Stars on the 4th day. Where did the light come from during the first 3 days?

On the 2nd day, the Bible says that God created a "firmament" to separate the waters from the waters. Is this saying that the world is flat?

On the 3rd day, the Bible says that God created plants. How did they survive that day without any sunlight?

At the end of the first book of Genesis, God created humans all at once, both male and female. Later on, he created humans again, but this time he created Adam first and then made Eve from one of Adam's ribs after Adam named all of the animals. How can these both be true?

Assuming the existence of a God who created the universe, is it more likely that the universe was created by the God of the Bible or by another God (either that of another religion or an unknown God)?

I would be interested to know Christians thoughts on why they get hostility from atheists.

I have seen in the past, people accusing Christians of arrogance and of being interfering (praying for someone that hasn't asked for it).

But I would be very interested in Christians own thoughts on this matter, hopefully an interesting exercise in self analysis.

it says:"You shall have no other gods before me".
Doesn't this commandment clearly states that you shouldn't place other gods before the Biblical god in your priorities? It doesn't say you should't have other god or gods. It clearly says you can have other gods, provided you don't consider them more important than Jehovah. So it wouldn't be a problem at all to Him if you had some other gods AFTER Him instead.
You can even consider non-godly things more important than the Biblical god, for the commandment clearly used the word "gods", not making reference to other kind of beings or things.
Is this commandment as clearl to you as it is to me? or to you it still casts doubts?
