As a Christian who is also educated, I fully accept evolution both micro and macro (since there is in all actuality no difference!).

Any pseudo-scientist Bible-thumping Christian here that would like to argue this, I'd appreciate a rational explanation of "Nylon-eating Bacteria" (Flavobacterium K172) found in 1975. This is a SEPARATE SPECIES of bacteria (evidence of MACRO evolution since nylon is MAN MADE).

If any part of a thing can be shown to be false, then that makes the whole thing false. Thus, I don't believe in the Theory of Evolution, at all. I do know that intra-species adaptation does occur, though -- but that is not all to which the Theory of Evolution lays claim. True Science has disproved everything else which the Theory of Evolution claims.

God bless.

Khandi, you clearly don't understand anything about evolution and natural selection.
For those who don't accept the fact of evolution, just please explain this: are you saying that a god designed and created absolutely every single species on the planet? Do you realize how many different insects, fish, or trees, for example, there are? What about bacteria and viruses--things they didn't even know existed when the bible was written? Or did god create every single atom and then put them together in the proper way?

I have no problem with some degree of evolution but I have no problem with intelligent design either. Some of the research being done now is showing the limits to what evolution can and cannot accomplish.

Christians, for the most part, do not deny micro evolution. It's macro evolution, the idea that species can evolve from other species that has no merit or evidence. I am probably 68% correct here.

Scientific "Fact" requires two things to NOT be considered a theory. 1) An experiment must be observable and 2) It must be repeatable in a controlled environment. (For example, it is "fact" that fire will burn paper.). With those requirements, Evolution is only a theory (as is Creationism), as no one (other the the Creator) was there to observe it, and it is not repeatable in a lab. There has yet to be a single proof of Evolution.
So, to answer your question, no.

Okay, evolution is proven to a certain extent. To the extent that a whole seperate species evolves, no. I can buy that birds develop different beak formations, or flippers instead of wings for more aqautic birds, for instance. But not that a multi-celled lifeform can evolve from a single-celled organism.

Believe in? Absolutely not. I *am* a scientist, after all.

Think it a likely mechanism of creation? Absolutely. But I don't *believe* in it. It just happens to be the most logical and consistent mechanism for the creation of life that humans have (yet) devised.

Analogy: I think Obama would make a better president than Hillary. Does that mean I have *any* faith in Obama? Absolutely not! I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw his limo. However, in my admitted ignorance of their capabilities in fulfilling that office, he seems the less of two evils. Likewise, evolution seems more likely than any other creation theory - but I certainly have no faith in it.

As a single species diversifies some population experience genetic drift and eventually can not reproduce with its original species. This means that a new species has been created.
