First of all, religion is purely anthropocentric.

Second, Christians are always teaching that we must "glorify" God, or some variant of that. How that isn't extremely arrogant and how it's even possible I'll never know.

"Hi, I'm Christian Joe. The universe was created just for me. I didn't evolve from no monkey. I'm too good for that. The Bible says that I'm created in the image and likeliness of God, and since God is perfect, I'm perfect by proxy.

My mission in life is to glorify a perfect God and to show all of you lost people who are sinners destined to hell how to go to heaven with me! Did I mention that I'm a special Creation of a perfect God?"

There is only one thing about religion which I am 100% certain of: Religion is the worship of humanity.

I have been in the religioun and spirituality section for about 30 minutes and keep seeing all these ppl saying that God doesnt exist. If he doesnt, then why would you go to the religion and spirituality section. Seems you may be questioning yourself!

Hello, all:

Wiccans, is there something about Christians and/or the Christian religion -- anything at all -- that you can acknowledge as admirable?

This is a sister question to one asked just a moment ago, and thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond.

Look for a sister question in a moment, and thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond.

I consider myself Christian. I donot go to church, (honestly, i have been wanting to go though), i dont pray before meals, i cuss, ... i admit, we arent the best people, but i believe god helps me in many ways, and that its not all of the time, but he does.

My friend tells me that in order to be a 'good' christian, you must go to church. Also, some of our beliefs are different. I believe that gays are NOT going to hell, she does, for an example.

Is there such thing as a good christian or bad? I mean.. i just dont know.

Christian? I hope I don't start a fight by doing this, but I have been wondering if they are in fact the teachings of Christ. Please give me your reasoning.

why has no one ever brought that fact up that a man wouldn't have sex with his own wife?

Are orgies allowed under Christian law? Because my pastor keeps pushing me to be in one of his, but I'm pretty sure it's not okay.

Thanks

One of the few people who can truly help the United States in this "War on Terror" was murdered in a terrorist attack earlier today.

Apparently God didn't care enough about US foreign policy (contrary to what neo-con Christians tell us) or the people of Pakistan to save her.

~It's to continue the bloodline, babe.
Walt Disney said it best, "we are living in a world of pure imagination".
Once you understand what that means you realize why a nihilist can exist.

i think it's really bizarre to believe God loves you all individually, and that he has a purpose for you and the whole Creationalist "there were no dinosaurs" theory blah blah blah...
if there is a god, does he not have better things to do with his time that bother with us? why does he have to care?

I’m talking about something that’s going to make him look up at me with tears in his innocent eyes and his bottom lip a-trembling, I want to appear to him like a goddess of doom speaking words that will destroy his little world! That’ll teach the little bugger spilling milk on my newspaper.

No it was the singling out of Jews as the "killers of Christ" what paved the way to all the hatred that culminated in the Holocaust.
