should I rinse with salt water or peroxcide?

both...peroxide will cleanse the bacteria, salt water will aid in healing (and stop the bleeding if any). Both will sting!

It sounds like you have an abscess. The salt water would be good for it but you need to see a dentist. You want the infection cleared up and professional help to preserve the tooth.

You have no idea how painful it can become if it becomes abcessed. More painful than giving birth according to women.
Go to an emergency dentist and get antibiotics, then have it pulled. For an extremely funny website on toothaches see below.

Well, I would suggest warm salt water first, then a little peroxide and then follow up with plain water. Then repeat the warm salt water.

Both, and at least call your dentist. Infections in the gums can go into the rest of your body--it's serious stuff. Take care.
