I’m talking about something that’s going to make him look up at me with tears in his innocent eyes and his bottom lip a-trembling, I want to appear to him like a goddess of doom speaking words that will destroy his little world! That’ll teach the little bugger spilling milk on my newspaper.

You don't use the bible to scare a person

Most of the OT stuff works fine.

There are actually Hell Plays for the very intention of scarying children. It's a new sensation sweeping the Bible Belt. I am not kidding.

They make these demonic plays and try to instill a fear of hell and homosexuality and abortion with images of mad scientists, carnage, and demons.

Yet, it's still not child abuse. Funny how religion gets away with everything

You are going to use the Bible as a means to scare your kid for spilling coffee??!? Are you serious or is this a joke? I'm an Atheist but even I think that's ridiculous, maybe a lil blasphemous. So you are saying that you want to scare your child using a verse from the Bible? Typical. Christian or Catholic may I ask? "destroy his little world" OMG what??!?
you do know its almost 2008 right?

Never use a bible to scare the little guy.And why do you want to scare the crap out of him for.Well let me tell you that your not a godness to him and why do you want to doom speaking words to destroy his little world.I have to ask you this question are you in your right mine you should see a doctor before you would do some thing bad to him. There are women that would like to have a child and they can't.So please go and see a doctor for yourself as soon as possible.Cause your child is a little ANGEL did you no that God just borer him to you until HE COME AND GET him,HIMSELF.Your his mother to educate him to respect and love others, and to be a loving person when he will get be older. What will he become IF HE STAY WITH U.I AM GLAD THAT YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER AND GET HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE.

You are obviously not serious because if you were you would be certifiably insane. The Bible is not a weapon of terror. And for those of you sighting this person as an example of bad Christianity, she clearly isn't really following Christian teachings of love, forgiveness, and gentle teaching. Besides haven't you ever heard of the phrase: "don't cry over spilled milk".

NO Christian uses Bible verses to scare children. You choose to believe that Christianity is based on fear. It is not. It is based on love, something which you apparently know nothing about.

You are an atheist and a militant one at that. You hate all Christians. You choose to blind yourself to Jesus's love.
You refuse to even TRY to be friends with anyone who is not atheist. This is just an attempt to make all Christians look bad.

This is a bogus question...disingenuous.

You know it, and so do 99% of the people here.
You ask at least 5 questions almost every day making fun of or attacking Christians.

Troll along.......

I know one that is REALLY REALLY scary!

Oh man read this to him and he will WET himself with fear!

Psalm 34:18

Even scarier one....

Jeremiah 31:3

Oh this one is SO FREAKY!

Jeremiah 29:11-13

Man read these and he will cry his eyes out!

If ya think God is like that, that God will scream and go nuts over spilled milk, then you don't know God and have created a strawman which you tear down.

i always found that positive, supportive and loving words helped my children rand me, rather than anger, losing my temper or making them afraid.

whatever age your child is, you deserve to have his love and appreciation, not fear and dread of you. you want him to trust you and to be able to come to you with his questions and worries, and not to be afraid that if he makes a mistake, you'll demolish him. we all make mistakes and that's how we learn, no matter at what age.

so why not show him how you'd like him to drink his milk at the table (or wherever you think best)? also, it's a good idea to read the newspaper (or whatever it is we don't want to get damaged) away from where our children are eating, don't you think?

lastly, be a goddess of motherly love, speaking words that will help him grow and be healthy, and that will help you have a great relationship together. often, parent-child counseling helps us know how to handle the many tough situations we face in childrearing. why not give it a try? good luck!

I know! Get 75 cents and go get a new damn paper and leave your kid alone!! It was an accident, if he doesn't get scared what are you gonna do? Beat him? You need to read the Bible and take a good look at how you are wanting to treat your child...and I am an Atheist telling you to read the Bible, now you know your a bad person.

The idea that you would state that you want to use fear to manipulate your child is really pathetic. That you would choose to ask about a Bible verse to do this tells me that you want to manipulate others as well. You have my pity. You show how low a non believer can stoop.
