I am 13 years old and I am having trouble with religion. My father is an Atheist well thats what he says he is but I dont believe that because he stil says grace and was raised catholic. My mom was raised Methodist she believes in god but not on a daily bases. I have never gone to church I always have wanted to but I am so confused about my belief in god. Sometimes I believe there is then I take my dads side and believe there isnt. There has to be something out there and there has to be something out there to bring me joy and comfort. I think religion is incredible but I do not know where to go from here

Ok I have a huge test tomorrow. On the Jewish fast days. Give me anything you know about them. I don't want bad answers. I want them to actually have information about the Jewish fasts. State which fast you are telling me about. Also I only want fasts that exist now adays, but you can tell me things that happened a long time ago if it has something to do with the fast. Thanks.
P.S. A best answer will be chosen for this question.

included in the bible, hasn't it already been picked and chosen for all believers?

Perhaps it should worry people that maybe some important and necessary parts were left out?

December 25, 1832
D&C 87: 1
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord concerning the wars that will shortly come to pass, beginning at the rebellion of South Carolina, which will eventually terminate in the death and misery of many souls;
3 For behold, the Southern States shall be divided against the Northern States, and the Southern States will call on other nations, even the nation of Great Britain, as it is called, and they shall also call upon other nations, in order to defend themselves against other nations; and then war shall be poured out upon all nations.

D&C 130: 12 (1843)
12 I prophesy, in the name of the Lord God, that the commencement of the difficulties which will cause much bloodshed previous to the coming of the Son of Man will be in South Carolina.
13 It may probably arise through the slave question. This a voice declared to me, while I was praying earnestly on the subject, December 25th, 1832

I wonder if this would have affected people then.

Why would God create a place where humans don't exist for billions of years? What is the purpose of that?

If I were converted to Christianity with lies, would God accept me if I converted other people to Christianity with the same lies?

Would I be condemned for unaware trickery?

Would the people I converted be condemned?

Religious folks tell us that an intelligent entity is the creator of the universe, but can never explain how or why this intelligence exists. The best they can do is to say it always existed (a statement which has no explanatory value).

Science, on the other hand, shows that intelligence and other features of life arose by a natural unthinking process of gradually increasing complexity over vast amounts of time. Indeed, this is the only way that intelligence could conceivably exist.

Is this why some theists fear and reject evolution despite the evidence - because it explains what their religions have never been able to explain?

And is this something Christians still do/have done?

Paul says:
Roman 3: 7 "But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?"

http://bible.cc/romans/3-7.htm

Paul's more infamous deception is the one he candidly admits to: that he "becomes like a Jew in order to win Jews" to the gospel (I Cor 19:20) and "becomes like the lawless in order to win the lawless" (I Cor 19:21).

John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." - NIV
As I know the trinity consisted by three persons Father, Son, Holy Spirit. So let's place these three persons near the word "God".

"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God [Father, Son, Holy Spirit], and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
John says us to to know the true God and in this true God Jesus Christ is included. But John says us to to know also Jesus (the only of three for second time). If trinity is correct why was John repeated?
If there is no trinity and the Father is the only true God, then it's logic but from a trinity view I can't see logic.

in the year and a half I have been coming here
I have made so many wonderful friends here
but sadly some arent with us any more and have moved on for whatever reason from R&S
at this time of the year , it makes me wonder what they are doing now
I miss so many of them ...

does anyone remember Mav ?
our regular little troll ... and a beautiful person
I wonder what she is doing now
I know she popped in under a new name now and then for a while

Greenwood has been missing for a while now
I miss him loads
we used to go to my chat room each night and sometimes we would talk for hours

I want to send them my love ... wherever they are and whatever they are doing .... I hope they are well

is there anyone you would like to add ?
who has touched your lives since joining here and that you miss being here ?

I was wondering this today. Do you ever wonder if wow, what if the small group of jewish people 2000 years ago were wrong and rejected the real Mesiah God had sent to us. I mean the people had already been waiting a long time for his coming, and now it has been 2000 more years and he hasnt arrived yet??? Wouldnt that worry you a little? I am not Jewish but I am just wondering what my mind set would be if I was. I think I would prabobly be a little worried that maybe we did reject the real one.
