December 25, 1832
D&C 87: 1
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord concerning the wars that will shortly come to pass, beginning at the rebellion of South Carolina, which will eventually terminate in the death and misery of many souls;
3 For behold, the Southern States shall be divided against the Northern States, and the Southern States will call on other nations, even the nation of Great Britain, as it is called, and they shall also call upon other nations, in order to defend themselves against other nations; and then war shall be poured out upon all nations.

D&C 130: 12 (1843)
12 I prophesy, in the name of the Lord God, that the commencement of the difficulties which will cause much bloodshed previous to the coming of the Son of Man will be in South Carolina.
13 It may probably arise through the slave question. This a voice declared to me, while I was praying earnestly on the subject, December 25th, 1832

I wonder if this would have affected people then.

As interesting as this prophecy was, to me one even more interesting is Joseph Smith's utterance of the "Standard of Truth."
"...the standard of truth has been erected; No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is spreading throughout the word. The LDS church has over 85,000 missionaries out at any given time, with over 13 million members and growing.
This prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes.

I wonder if these people who actively assassinate the character of the prophet without being willing to open their eyes, ears and heart understand the side they are putting themselves on. 'Whether by my own voice or the voice of my prophets, it is the same.' In this day and at the last day, I will affirm my knowledge and testimony that Joseph Smith truly was called by God to be a prophet. Joseph restored the gospel of Christ upon the earth. He received the necessary keys and authority from those who originally held them through the laying on of hands. The priesthood of God is again upon this earth and through it's power and influence the entire earth has been blessed.
'Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve? But for me and my house we will serve the Lord.' and might I add, stand with His prophets.

Sad it is getting idiots....to answer so far.

The Moon thing with Quakers dress was made up by a Mr. Huntington 40 years after Joseph Smith died. There is nothing written by his scribes or friends about it.
It was published in an LDS Young Ladies Journal in 1892
but they were unaware of the spurious nature of that edict.

Be wary of Desiree, I read her 360 it's creepy.

The people then said what the people say now, that he was crazy. His prophesies have been proven to be true and reliable time and time again, yet those who will not see still wander in darkness.
