as salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktuh.

Insha'Allah, I live in the USofA. I was born here and I have lived virtually all of my life here.
Insha'Allah, I am in my fifties and, as an old man, I have watched how this nation has changed.
When I was a little boy, you never saw a man and women, even those who portrayed a husband and wife in a movie or a television show in the same bed.
When I was a little boy, you did not talk back to your parents and if some one, like another little boy wanted to fight you he would say something inappropriate about your mother, or your sisters because he knew that you would defend their honor.
When I was a little boy, I wore shorts or blue jeans. My sisters wore dresses.
We were raised as Roman Catholics by my well meaning and well intentioned mother, may Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, have mercy on her, forgive her her sins and grant her paradise as she put up with a lot while raising me. When we went to mass each and every Sunday and every holy day of obligation, she and my two sisters wore scarfs to cover their heads. They did this even after the Second Vatican Council said they did not have to any more.

Now that I am an old man, I see things in movies and on TV that one should not see except with his wife in their bedroom and that should be private.
Now that I am an old man, I hear things said by children, teenagers, young adults and adults for which they should be ashamed regarding women and regarding themselves and they laugh about it. They think they are clever.

Although a few women have been sucessful in politics (if anyone can really be sucessful in that field). Some others have been sucessful in business. Some are very good wives and mothers as they have so chosen to be. Many women have allowed something else to happen to them.

They have sold themselves for material gain or to be popular, to become movie stars or television stars.
They have allowed themselves to be used a "bait" to catch those men who do not practice casting their eyes down and who do not treat women with respect.
They are called "eye candy".
They have been lead, happily and all too willingly into becoming prostitutes for money and drugs, for fame and the false promise of what that will bring to them.
It is on TV, in the movies and on the internet.
As they do this I see them wearing gold "crosses, but I do not think they are really "Christians".

I see this in all Western nations and all nations that have been heavily influenced by the "culture" of the West throughout the world.

IN the West and in all nations heavily influenced by the culture of the west, there is no respect for women, not even from other women, let alone from most men.
This should not seem odd as in the West there seems to be little respect for anything or anyone, except for those who are "materially rich".
IN the West, money is god almighty even among a vast majority of those who say they are "religious". Televangelist wear silk suits, Rolex watches and are driven about in a stretch limo as they go to and from their mansions. They admit to sexual tryst and affairs, to drug use and homosexuality and then they say they have been forgiven.

I am an old man who has watched as the West has fallen into a steady decline of decadent and immoral behaviors that would shock the ancient Romans, that would scandalize the people of Sodom and Gomorah and, sadly, I have watched as much of the world has tried despirately to adopt the ways of the West.

Alhumdulillah! I give all thanks and praise to Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, for having guided my daughter and myself to Islam! Alhumdulillah! I pray that Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, will continue to guide us on the straight path of Islam and sustain us. I pray that He will so bless all those who seek Him with sincere hearts and good intentions. Ameen.

Insha'Allah, I find myself in total agreement with the speaker in the video you posted.

Ma'a salaam.

Any civilization could be said to oppress women... the fact of the matter is that men and women will always be stereotypically different within a given culture and along with that comes some special treatment. The fact that they are treated differently makes it SEEM like oppression to another culture, even if it is not an APPARENT oppression from WITHIN the culture. Western women typically do things Eastern women do not, I think we should not try to judge one another. It is not healthy, nor is it constructive. Trying to change someones' mind with an insult is empty and meaningless.

Don't feel bad though, the Western world probably does this more often than the Eastern world.

I watched the video. I hated it, but I watched it. I won't pretend to understand everything the Bible says. No one really does. But hear this! I am not oppressed and that is propaganda! No one wants to watch that. Though congratulations on finding a way to get a lot of people to watch it. I live in a western world and love it! It is so much better than what you have! I live in a world of prosperity. Is there rape? Yes. Is there crime? Yes. Is there crime against women? Yes. Are you trying to imply that you do not have that where you are from? If so, you are a liar. People are people, no matter where they are born or where they are from. People are people, and some people do things that are wrong. Some people do things that are right. But it is the same, no matter if you are in the West...or the East....STOP STEREOTYPING!

Also christians do not believe in the Quran, so you can not really use that as proof in an argument against them.

Well, I watched to the video.I don't think that muslim women are oppressed.
I understand people asking the reason why muslim are different, they are right because they don't know the Islam. They look at you so covered and look at themselves with a totally different way of being and then ask themselves:why are we so different?Who is the one to be right?...and here we go!

By the way even if it's true that there are many rapes in western countries, there are on the other sides many many rapes even when you wear the hijab!

[ King James ]-[ Cor1:14:34 ]-[ Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. ]
this is what the bible said about the woman in the church
[ King James ]-[ Lv:15:25 ]-[ And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. ]
also
[ King James ]-[ Lv:12:2 ]-[ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. ]

XXXXXX
[ King James ]-[ Lv:12:5 ]-[ But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. ]

but the woman and the man in holy Quran same do difference between them

[ An-Nisaa:124 ]-[ And whoso doeth good works , whether of male or female , and he ( or she ) is a believer , such will enter paradise and they will not be wronged the dint in a date stone . ]

[ An-Nahl:97 ]-[ Whosoever doeth right , whether male or female , and is a believer , him verily We shall quicken with good life , and We shall pay them a recompense in proportion to the best of what they used to do . ]

[ Gafer:40 ]-[ Whoso doeth an ill deed , he will be repaid the like thereof , while whoso doeth right , whether male or female , and is a believer , ( all ) such will enter the Garden , where they will be nourished without stint . ]

[ Al-Hujurat:13 ]-[ O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female , and have made nations and tribes that ye may know one another . Lo! the noblest of you , in the sight of Allah , is the best in conduct . Lo! Allah is Knower , Aware . ]

in the west : Let your women keep silence in the churches

in the islam : the noblest of you , in the sight of Allah , is the best in conduct

What is that you are trying to prove here?

Don't you know the westerns are having different standards for nudity at first place? If someone cannot see a woman's ****, she is not considered naked!

It does not go with Christianity by any means but it goes with their culture. Let them live the way they want & let them live our way.

Live & let live!

Thanks for posting this.

Their are chains that can be seen and chains that cannot be seen and this culture free the woman from her family which leads to the neglect of her family and then the fall of society.

All because its profitable and that the society can be controlled easier when they are following their desires. Thus becoming a slave of their lower selves.

They have freed themselves of being a servant of God/Allah which is the highest servitude to the lowerest; their own base desires.

Women are degraded, used and shamed in order to sell their products that no one needs; but because we are now buying to fulfil desires not needs.

One of the greatest women of earth was Mary mother of Jesus; someone who veiled herself. She was mentioned in the Quran twice as much as in the bible.(32) One of the other greatest women is Fatima (upon her peace) who was another amazing mother.

i don't need to watch the video sister as i am an american who has acepted islaam and it's funny that we get assulted by ppl who live in ignorance. i dress in full muslim garb including niqab(face veil) and it's funny to me that ppl point and stare and me when it's completely ok for women to walk around basically naked but i'm oppressed not to mention i get to watch them go out to work while i'm home having tea w/my friends while my HUSBAND works and see these unwed mothers w/ their illegitimate children but i'm oppressed.

as for those who are talking a/b dafur and other stories, these ppl who are doing things are doing b/c they are being disobient to the teachings of islaam and taking them out of context not to mention most of it is either cultural or tribal and b/c they "call" themselves muslims it gets associated w/islaam. you have some countries who are extreme like sudan, iran, and iraq that make it hard for law abiding muslims look bad. maybe get to know some muslims and you will see a difference.

and speaking of propaganda how a/b the misconception that all muslims are arab or african. we come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

pick up a book.

I am an American woman, and that is propaganda against Americans in general. I am not oppressed and if I were it would be of my own choice to stay in that situation since I have the freedom to do as I wish.
