I have been given to understand that our relationship to the apes has been "proven"...evidently, the fact that our dna is very similar is "proof positive".
We share a common ancestor, or so I've been told.
I am wondering...has anyone ever located any evidence of this common ancestor? Any fossilized remains, perhaps?
Yes, I know...fossils are quite rare, etc.. Whenever someone asks where are the fossils that prove this or that, we are told about how rare the conditions that form fossils are...
And yet, there seem to be all sorts of them.
Evidently, however, this common ancestor has been "proven" to have existed. I mean, how can you doubt it?
Super computers have mapped out his genomes, and everything!!

Hey...maybe it's Bigfoot!!

I am a very open minded person that is always seeking knowledge and listening to what other have to say. I just crossed a religious question that was just bashed by people are I guess anti religion or what ever you want to call it. You know for a while I was so ashamed that some fellow Christians are such judgmental close minded people with no mercy or respect for others. However now I see these people that go around bashing on people that believe in God or a God. It’s like we have all lost respect for each other. The non believers out there calling us religious freaks are just as bad as the Religious people bashing on non believers. It wrong on both ends… We should have respect for what others believe in whether it be God, Santa Clause or Buddha!! It’s your choice!! You do what you gotta do!! That is all I have to say about this… Peace out!

example in a dispute between A and B, A will not do what B says purely on B's authority, so B invokes "the Word of God", and A complies with the wishes of B. If so, is abusing this power not something which would possibly be a driver in authoring religious doctrines, and have doctrines therefore been written which serve the authors purpose or match their personal opinion?

I know that female circumcision is more a cultural thing rather than religious and that male circumcision is more associated with religion, mostly Judaism but Ive heard it is also sometimes done in Islam and Christianity.

My question is why is there such out lash against the female one and not the male one?
I know that the female ones are usually done without consent but so are the males ones. The females ones usually arent dont in proper medical settings but if they were like the males ones, would they be accepted?
And I know there can be sever physical medical problems arising from female circumcision but that can also happen with the males i.e. taking off too much foreskin.

I am not trying to be rude or anything; I am actually against both of them but I am simply curious as to the reasons why they are differently treated.

I want to serve God the way the bible says that I should. But I do not see my life going anywhere or producing ANY results (or as the bible calls it, fruit) I wrestle with all sorts of things, and am always falling down in my spiritual battles. I want to hear his voice, feel his presence; but I often feel alone instead of feeling either of the two I mentioned

It has been learned that, although piercings and tattoos are not condemned by Jehovah's Witnesses... if one should get one, they lose their congregational privledges for a time... is this true? If so, does this only apply to tattoos and piercings that are visible? If a married sister chose to get a belly piercing, would this still apply even if her piercing is kept private and hidden, while not stumbling others in the congregation? (I am not looking for different opinions on piercings, for I am aware that there are many. I am only looking for answers to these questions above.)
