I am a very open minded person that is always seeking knowledge and listening to what other have to say. I just crossed a religious question that was just bashed by people are I guess anti religion or what ever you want to call it. You know for a while I was so ashamed that some fellow Christians are such judgmental close minded people with no mercy or respect for others. However now I see these people that go around bashing on people that believe in God or a God. It’s like we have all lost respect for each other. The non believers out there calling us religious freaks are just as bad as the Religious people bashing on non believers. It wrong on both ends… We should have respect for what others believe in whether it be God, Santa Clause or Buddha!! It’s your choice!! You do what you gotta do!! That is all I have to say about this… Peace out!

To ms bee ha I feel your pain... as a believer I myself have been bashed by fellow christians... I guess that is just human nature... too sad but true. Niel S you see you expressed and stood for your belief w/o being rude or disrespectful. It's all good!! A message to my fellow believers we forget that God is Love and Love is not forced it shouldn't be smothered into anyones face it just pushes you away when that happens. Besides I don't think God wants anyone to just be forced into believing in him then it wouldn't be sincere....

I agree. No one should argue that "my-religion-is-better-yours". It should be:
"My religion is my religion, your religion is your religion. Take the best of it to be the best individual person, take the best of it to build a better community. Understand other religions and respect each other beliefs".

Usually I am a easy going guy but lately certain parties here have been pushing the wrong buttons with me I allow IM and Email and have a open 360 all with the same screen name . been around a while and want to continue with open minded people who are tolerant . ALL I ask is for those who can't control themselves to not start as from now on I intend to block those as soon as I identify them . I am proud to say in all the time I have been here I have only blocked 2 { I am considering a third } but am always reluctant . How many others can claim to be that open , honest and tolerant ?

Your absolutely right. I am LDS and wow do we get bashed on here. Look I know some people are judgmental no matter what they believe... but for some reason its so acceptable for an atheist to bash religion and mock God. my own mom is that way. she doesn't believe in God and is constantly making a mockery of him. it really disturbs me because I am Christian, but I guess she feels perfectly justified in it, and i cant say a dang thing or i am self righteous. I don't even answer questions that pertain to atheists because its none of my concern. i don't make judgmental remarks or anything like that. And also I think its fine if you don't necessarily respect someones belief, but keep it to yourself. But we SHOULD respect eachother just because of the fact that we are all human and children of God.

I feel bad today because my questions got deleted and I was not being mean at all. I thought this was a site to be able to express our thoughts and opinions and in a respectful way. I don't believe in being disrespectful. When people answer this way it is taking all the fun out of being here.

Since I allow e-mails I get hate mail from a lot of religious types that disagree with my anti-religion stance. When I say hate mail some of it is downright nasty. I am currently in an exchange with a Christian that calls me stupid for not accepting his way too often used arguments. Even though I try to maintain a level of respect with him to this point, it's getting increasingly hard to do.

Shame on all the Christians who are mean and nasty in this forum...that is not what you are supposed to be about (I'm know I'm judging but it falls back on all of us). Lots of others are pretty nasty, and many are mocking of the beliefs of others--that really is bad. People like Pangel are an example (non-Christians) who can give a thoughtful answer w/o being crass. Thanks, Pangel!

You're right! Respect will be the key to human survival! Can we learn to do this in time? It is everything to the human species. Without it we will destroy each other and feel righteous about it.

Hear, hear.
We're all worshipping the same God anyway, we may call him by different names but it's still the same guy!
Different faiths are simply different paths to the same thing, and all are worthy of respect.

I totally agree with you. I do not have to be a member of your faith, or of any faith to respect you as a human being. I try not to diss anyone who is religious, though I might challenge their ideas.
