Ignoring for a moment the fact that December 25th is not Jesus birthday (the fact that it's celebrated then is because the Church decided to incorporate into its practices the pagan festival of Saturnalia but needed to give it a legitimate-looking Christian veneer), I'll tell you that religious Jews do not celebrate Christmas. There are not-so-religious Jews who celebrate Christmas, generally as a secular holiday, an excuse to give and receive presents, put a tree in their living rooms, and cover their houses with tacky lights. But nobody celebrates Christmas BECAUSE they are Jewish. Anyone who tells you that is probably a "Messianic Jew," which means they belong to a certain Christian sect (comprised partially of people who were born Jewish but converted to Christianity, calling it "Messianic Judaism") who call themselves "Jews" in order to proselytize Jews. It's confusing, but it's these messianics who are behind the confusion, not the Jews.

Nobody celebrates Christmas because they are Jewish - there are just a few Christians out there (some of them Jews who abandoned Judaism) who want to call themselves Jews, and call their brand of Christianity "Judaism" - and for some reason they all seem to be answering questions on Yahoo Answers.

I hope this helps clear things up.

For as long as Jews and non-Jews have been forming families, which (surprisingly) is as long as there have been Jews.

Your question is really applicable to all non-Christians that celebrate Christmas in one way or another, so I am suspicious that you may have some hostility against Jews.

My Jewish mother married a non-Jew 16 years ago, and my common-law marriage to a non-Jew is just as long as that. We've been celebrating Christmas for that long, but even more so since my two daughters were born, as Christmas is especially special for children, and if you don't think THAT is spiritual, you should try loving a child and then you will change your mind.

Those that do are usually from the liberal branches who do not follow the rest of the laws anyways--they ignore the JC part and accept the Santa part.

Peace

My father (a Jew), my mother (a Methodist) and me (an atheist) all cheerfully celebrated Christmas this year.
