Twas the night before Christmas and all through the forum,
No one was complaining... all behaved with decorum.
Everyone answered their questions with care
In hopes that their contacts still would be there
The Christians were nestled, all snug in their beds
While visions of heaven danced through their heads
And chosen by grace wrote a lengthy retort
To all the vile temptresses, who dance and cavort

When all of a sudden, there arose such a clatter...
The agnostics came out, to see what was the matter
Away to their keyboards the flew in a flash
That Gap ad again... the one thing they trash!
With Uncle Wayne in his Kerchief, NH in his cap
Both were still chuckling at the Queen of Yack...
The Penquin walked funny, a Marche Je Drole'
While Zilla did flame all the fundies away

With a moon nice & full, on this beautiful eve
The pagans were feasting and drinking their meade
When what to their wondering eyes should appear?
The atheists, laughing, and drinking their beer.

For people who have converted from one belief to another, what did you convert from and to? Also why did you convert?

I got it from my mother as a gift this Christmas, because I'm shortly going off travelling around the world and she got me it to protect my on my travels.

However, as I'm an atheist and also don't believe in the concept of organised religion, is it hypocritical to wear it? I don't want to offend my mother, and part of me wants to accept it in the spirit it was intended, but at the same time I'm not sure I'd feel right wearing a symbol of something I have no interest in.

I've already told her my point of view and she's happy for me to exchange it for something similar but without any religous connotations, but I'm not sure what to do for the best.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/103459/Questions-Answers-About-Americans-Religion.aspx

To quote in part:

"To summarize, more than 8 in 10 Americans identify with a religion and 8 out of 10 say that religion is at least fairly important in their daily lives; more than 8 out of 10 say they attend church at least "seldom"; and again more than 8 out of 10 identify with a Christian religion.

Genesis 9:6 and 1:26,27 says Jehovah made man in his image. We know God cannot die and our original purpose was to live FOREVER in paradise earth.Since animals were not made to live forever, does this mean they are going to die in paradise? Are only humans going to be perfect?

John 3:16 Jesus was the only begotten Son of God if you believe He was Micheal can you explain why?

I'm especially interested in this topic. I'm not talking necessarily about really detailed and complicated revelations, like John had on the Isle of Patmos.

I'm asking about any kind of holy revelation -- do any of you receive revelations?

I myself received a revelation in which I saw that God wears outfits similar to what Christopher Walken wore in BALLS of FURY -- only more so.

Replies only from people who have received revelations will be accepted. All others will be debunked, or whatever.

ok here's my question:
what would you do if a human being (that isn't a christian) comes along, claims to be the son of god and is then crucified by a mob, but then rises from the dead, say, a week later?

would you say it's hogwash and he's a liar?
what if a bunch of his followers (let's say they're native americans) claim to have seen everything and that it's true?

would you say it's a load of nonsense?

hmmm

Lets say another female disrespected you, would you
a. try to beat the crap outta your opponent no matter what?
or
b. would you just wrestle her to the ground with all your might(and try your best not to mess with her face since you already know that its a woman's first presentation to the world).

Lets get some good answers shall we?

There are so many reasons to believe that Joseph Smith was a story teller and not a prophet. Here are a few:
No wheel, horses or metalurgy in the Americas till the spaniards arrived so there is no way the war between the Lamanites and the Nephites could have happened....and there has never been a single sword or chariot from that time ever found (because they don't exist)
The genetic evidence supports science...not J. Smith. Native Americans are decendants of Euro-Asian tribes not Hebrew...besides dark skin is not a punishment, that is ridiculas.
There is no evidence that the Mayan ruins, which are post Jesus by about 800 years have any connection to ancient hebrew or Egyption.
To name a few...............................

Asti Taylor was my child. A cocker spaniel that lived a little past her 18th birthday. She was born in October or November of 1989. She passed away in my arms about 2pm eastern standard time on December 22, 2007. She is everything to me. I was 18 when I first brought her home and I will be 36 on 12-31.

Christians say man was made from dust.
Muslims from water.
Christians believed the earth was flat ....till modern science proved them wrong.
Muslims from the beginning knew the earth was round.
Christians believed the earth was the center of the universe till scientists proved them wrong.
Muslims always knew the sun was the center ( and that it spun on its own axis) and the planets revolved around it.
