John 8:58 - Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Is this not really bad grammar? Jesus was simply saying that he existed in heaven before Abraham existed (i.e. "I WAS" in existence). Either Jesus wasn't good with his grammar, or he wanted to explain in a non-direct way that he was God (which would have been totally off topic because Jesus was replying to the Jews who said that he could not have existed when Abraham was alive because he was too young. Jesus was telling them that he was not only old enough to have seen Abraham, but that he existed even BEFORE Abraham).

Looking at the context, could this Greek text here have been poorly translated?

Here's how the Worldwide English version puts it:

"Jesus answered, I tell you the truth. I already was before Abraham was born"

Is the end all be all to what is what? I would say it is just some religious folk who say what is and isn't "Christian", but it extends to all aspects of belief, or lack thereof, on here. I feel pretty intelligent, but I don't feel I am the ultimate authority on the truth of all things. I am just curious as to what creates this behavior. Any thoughts?

So, according to the bible, the great flood wiped out the entire world, except for Noah's family and the animals he gathered.

So why are there other written accounts from other parts of the world , at about the same time of Noah's flood, of flooding happening. Obviously the entire world didnt die in the flood, or else there wouldnt be other written accounts of it, oh, and people who survived it.

Deuteronomy 21:
18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

Now let's hear that crud about how the Old Testament "doesn't count", but at the same time the Bible must be studied.

Let's hear how good and kind Christians are, except when it comes to disciplining that evil drunken son.

Let's hear about the intelligence of a designer who advocates killing his own creations.

Let's hear how loving and merciful god is, yet he terrifies an entire land by instructing parents to kill their disobedient children with ROCKS!

What are your thoughts? The human has been able to control many aspects of the nature. He has controlled many diseases and found many cures for different diseases. Do you think this limits or slows the evolutionary process? or more than that it will stop it and the human will not be able to evolve anymore to a better species?

Will this at one age cause our extinction and the evolution of a better animal or other species that can control us?

Just a thought!

We're supposed to have free-will, so seemingly we can take our decision, and God's fine with that. He gave us the free will after all, and He won't do anything to determine our will.
But, wouldn't it be considered and intervinence if the Holy Spirit presented you alternate ways or paths? Would that determine your will or not?

Doctrine & Covenants 88: 67 And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.
68 Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.

Yes I know it is not in the bible, so if you feel you can still answer, please do.

To God sinful hate is to allow bitter feelings to dictate your actions so that harm will come from it. This is what Cain did when he killed his brother. However, God tells us to hate sin. Do you think this is alright to do?
