So, according to the bible, the great flood wiped out the entire world, except for Noah's family and the animals he gathered.

So why are there other written accounts from other parts of the world , at about the same time of Noah's flood, of flooding happening. Obviously the entire world didnt die in the flood, or else there wouldnt be other written accounts of it, oh, and people who survived it.

Christianity was based around the black sea. It is well established that the land bridge was breached and that the Black Sea being lower than the Mediterranean was inundated. In fact there are substantial archaeological digs going on there now!

It fully illustrated that Christianity is based on a very small global are and is tribal based and definitely not world based!!!!

Two theories.

1) The flood wasn't global. Anybody that knows any science at all goes with this one.

2) Other cultures "stole" the story after-the-fact

Because large floods are uncommon enough that they will be remembered and embellished upon, yet common enough that they will eventually happen in any coastal area or area near a river. I'll give you one guess as to where paleolithic societies like to settle.

Obviously because it is a myth (though probably one based on a real event), and myths were never meant to be taken literally, but to convey deeper truths, whether about God or simply about life in general.
