So, according to official church teaching (again full citation please), what is promised to those who live the very best possible life as a Mormon?

This person would follow church teachings as close as humanly possible. What do they get after they die? Please be very specific.

If this peace treaty in the middle east is signed.
Do you think this is related to the peace treaty that is talked about in the Bible. And do you have reason to believe if it's signed this would start the 7 year tribulation told by Daniel and in the book of Revelation?

i had gone a few months trying to support him as he recently got "saved". but now ive had enough. i havent gone for like a month now and intend to never go again (i was raised very strict pentecostal and am sick of church)and the other day someone from his church called to speak to me. the person was the man who preaches to my husband and basically pushes religion on him. in my opinion he has brainwashed my husband. so tanyways this guy tells me they miss me at church and that God was waiting for me. i was like excuse me? and he was like "God is waiting for you" so i said "is he now, well im quite sure if he needs me he does not need to wait for me in any old building since he already resides in me."

what would you have said??

i hate when these fundies pressure me, dont they know that is a total turnoff??

Okay, so I'm going to jump on this Golden Compass bandwagon for a moment.

Maybe the author of those books was an atheist. Maybe The Golden Compass is written from a non-christian viewpoint. But does this make it an ATTACK on christians?

I mean, are atheists and non-christians not allowed to create? Is it not possible that atheist writers gear towards an atheist audience, and simply want to entertain those who are like-minded rather than trying to secretly lead christians away from their own beliefs?

A) May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

B) Oh, oh, oh, it looks like you been an awfully good girl/boy this year! Have you been nice and naughty? Hmmmmmmm?

In Anthropology, the primary science that Archeology is derived from, we learn that IF two different groups of people are using a word that is pronounced similarly and has a similar meaning that the groups have had some kind of contact and exchange of ideas.

Much of the Old Testament is written in Aramaic, not Hebrew although both Aramaic and Hebrew are Semitic languages they are different, kind of like Spanish and French are both Romantic languages.

I was recently discussing a best answer I got from someone who did not understand translation.

I was discussing this with some other people and discovered that someone I thought understood believed that the old testament was written in Hebrew.

Kind of shocking to me. How many of you think the OT is written in Hebrew? How many know much is in Aramaic? How many have a clue how difficult translation really is?

Just wondering.

Thanks.

Christians to boycott Christmas family film The Golden Compass over fears kids seeing the movie will give up on God. The film, starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, is an adaptation of one of the stories from atheist author Philip Pullman's controversial His Dark Materials trilogy.

And Catholic League officials fear children who watch the film will be tempted to read the books, which they claim "bash Christianity and promote atheism to kids." League president William Donohue tells America's Entertainment Weekly magazine, "Parents might be inclined to say, 'Hey, our kid really enjoyed the movie, why don't we buy him His Dark Materials for Christmas?' (It) introduces the kid to atheism. (It's) a stealth campaign."
