-- King James
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

You have to let God have his way. He won't allow you to be tempted beyond what you can't resist. That is why all sin is 100% preventable. We choose to sin. Look in the mirror and be honest. What is it that God wants you to do? Why can't you do it? When you have those answers you'll be well on the road to recovery.

Do something that gives your life meaning. Sometimes I feel like the cosmos can't get through to us when we're wrapped up in too much rage and sadness. If you're so deep in your negative feelings (which isn't really your fault, often enough), you won't be as sensitive to the beauty that is around you. I know; I've been there.

What gives you joy? For me, I love adventure and thrills. I feel "it" when I'm snowboarding sometimes. I feel "it" when I am traveling and seeing the sun rise or set in a place for the first time. Nature, newness... those do it for me. Even though I am not religious, I find that going into old temples and cathedrals make me feel "it."

I guess my point is that the door is always open. Well, it's never locked. You just need to choose the right door to open and walk through.

Some ideas: do something nice for someone else every day. I don't mean just your family, I mean strangers. It can be as simple as holding the door for a little old lady or letting someone in during rush hour. If you can, volunteer once a week at a shelter or soup kitchen. That's especially important around this time of year. Sponsor a family for the holidays. Buy something for a gift drive.

This takes the focus off of you (and therefore your sadness and anger) and places it on positivity and goodwill. By buying a gift for a child who wouldn't otherwise get it, you are creating a miracle in his or her life. Put as much love out into the world as you can to as many people as you can, indiscriminately, without expectation. See if that doesn't remind you of grace.

If you really feel that you need a major life overhaul and you can drop off for awhile, try southeast Asia. Go volunteer. Just experience it. India's a great place to start.

God will never gives us more than we can handle. At times it may seem like it but it isn't. He is challenging us to make us better and stronger people. Try praying. Don't ask him to open the door tell him too. Ask and you shall recieve, knock and the door shall be opened.
