i had gone a few months trying to support him as he recently got "saved". but now ive had enough. i havent gone for like a month now and intend to never go again (i was raised very strict pentecostal and am sick of church)and the other day someone from his church called to speak to me. the person was the man who preaches to my husband and basically pushes religion on him. in my opinion he has brainwashed my husband. so tanyways this guy tells me they miss me at church and that God was waiting for me. i was like excuse me? and he was like "God is waiting for you" so i said "is he now, well im quite sure if he needs me he does not need to wait for me in any old building since he already resides in me."

what would you have said??

i hate when these fundies pressure me, dont they know that is a total turnoff??

Your husband told you, you were going to hell? Sounds like the man of a womans dreams.....

Being a deist, why would you go to church anyhow?

Doesn't a deist simply believe that god created earth, set in motion, and from that point on, could not care less. No heaven, no hell.

Just belief that someone created the universe?.... What good would church have done... let it go... your husband will eventually tire of the entire thing...

You have illusrated the answer between deism and theism. As a deist, you may maintain a personal faith without going within a parsec of a church.

Good luck with th hubby.

I can tell you your marriage won't last because your hubby will try and force that belief system on you for as long as you stay with him. It's unfortunate that he can't believe as he does and just agree to disagree. He may/might need to be reminded that the overriding theme in all relationships is LOVE and not religious beliefs. Good Luck!

ignore them and go on your own path for awhile. Just keep praying to God with a humble heart to show you the way. In the mean time, read the bible alone and ignore the fundies

Unfortunately it sounds like religion is ruining your life. Plus, what on earth is your husband doing, asking someone else to call you . Perhaps your husband should be supporting and respecting you, I know I would.

Sounds like you need a new place of worship. GOD waits for no one. Praise the LORD.

Good for you! *applaud*

I am sorry for your husband, if he is as badly gone as you say you might get repercussions.
Have you thought about moving to another city to get him away from that church?

I don't see this marriage lasting, for one.

If they show up at your house, call the cops and give 'em a taste of their own.
