How many people here have ever heard of Monotheasm, which is the belief in one Goddess. It's not like the trendy Wicca that focuses on polarity - it's a comprehensive view of the Universe as a living Goddess, and everything that is, was or ever will be co-exists within Her. Some of us call it Wicce.

It syncs up perfectly with evolution, quantum mechanics, chaos theory, genetics and other sciences. It is an extension of the Gaia hypothesis. It says that everything is connected so everything we do affects us eventually. It's a concept of not just perfect oneness, but the perfect source - 0 (zero) that flows into existence.

I'm not asking people to believe in it, I'm just curious as to how many of you have encountered it before, and whether any of you have ever seriously considered the idea of a living Universe or planet. I don't think it's for everyone, but I do think you can't have a complete understanding of religious concepts unless you've heard this part of the story.

You can't just pick and choose your beliefs when it comes to a religion centered around an ancient document that spells out what you must believe... Yes I can understand taking some things as a metaphor...But then again who is to say what is a metaphor and what is not?? Also if people can believe in the bible why not the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Gospel of Phillip and Mary?? they both make just as much reference to Jesus and his disciples, and has just as much credibility as the Bible...This is just another example of Christians picking and choosing what to believe...What do you think??

He was to be cast out of the Garden of Eden. He cried out to God that his punishment was too great because any who found him would surely kill him. God then place upon him a mark so that none would kill him.

Who was Cain afraid of, and from whom was God protecting him??? Supposedly at this point there are only three people in the world.

I believe it is necessary for salvation because Jesus said it was necessary in John 3:5..."Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God."

That's right. I would like pros AND cons. Please don't hold back. Which Bible version is the most reliable and why should I put my faith in it? Which one do most scholars agree is the most reliable and trustworthy version? Thank you.

I mean if a man in Africa has been raised in a secluded tribe his whole life, and only has his peoples beliefs to go on; will God punish him when it's his time?
I mean no disrespect or anything like that. I am just really curious.

First and foremost i must say i am not trying to be funny nor rude but asking out of plain old ignorance i ask questions! and FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW THE DEFINITION OF IGNORANCE LOOK IT UP, it simply means The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed. Stupidity on the other hand means knowing but caring about what u know(lol)

so:
I was watching the news earlier with my family and it was showing warren jeffs or something like that and one of his wife and he had like 50 kids by 5 wives and everything and someone told me that he was also married to 7 of his first wives kids which would be his own daughters so i guess my question is what is mormonism and its beliefs? and do they really marry their own children?

thanks in advance muahzzzzzzzzz :)

At Deuteronomy 6:4, the Hebrew text contains the Tetragrammaton twice, and so should more properly read: “Jehovah our Almighty God is one Jehovah.” (NW) The nation of Israel, to whom that was stated, did not believe in the Trinity. The Babylonians and the Egyptians worshiped triads of gods, but it was made clear to Israel that Jehovah is different.
Texts from which a person might draw more than one conclusion, depending on the Bible translation used
If a passage can grammatically be translated in more than one way, what is the correct rendering? One that is in agreement with the rest of the Bible. If a person ignores other portions of the Bible and builds his belief around a favorite rendering of a particular verse, then what he believes really reflects, not the Word of God, but his own ideas and perhaps those of another imperfect human.

1 Timothy 2:3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
Isaiah 43:3. For I am Jehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
Isaiah 45:15. Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
1 Timothy 4:10. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe.

I was talking with my mother the other day about this. I have a cousin that would rather her children date someone of the same gender than someone of a different race. I have no problem with either, as long as my children are happy. Think is, I informed my mother that in the bible there is nothing against inter-racial relationships, but there IS about being with someone of the same gender. If anyone knows of the passage in the bible that my mother is trying to claim is there, please let me know. I have yet to hear about this ever. I am a Christian woman, but people are people and as long as they aren't hurting other people, let them be. It is not our place to judge. Leave that up to God. As long as they aren't breaking laws, let them be.

The Ten Commandments - (moral imperatives)

Love your neighbor means love everyone around you. Do you love everyone around you.

Irrespective of creed, color, class (rich or poor),

Can you love someone bad

Are you really loving your parents, teachers, friends, colleagues,

Are you good to everyone around you? Do you help people around you?

If you follow the above, you are already following The Ten Commandments.

My question too is, are you a true christian following the The Ten Commandments sincerely. If you are following, what is that which is making people not to follow them as they are so good.
