He was to be cast out of the Garden of Eden. He cried out to God that his punishment was too great because any who found him would surely kill him. God then place upon him a mark so that none would kill him.

Who was Cain afraid of, and from whom was God protecting him??? Supposedly at this point there are only three people in the world.

Read and study the Bible.
Cain and Able were not in the garden of Eden, they were born after Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden.

Cain, Adam and Eve were not the only people after Cain killed Able.Prior to their birth Eve was called the mother of all the living (Genesis 3:20). And they couldn't have been the only three people because after God punished Cain and Cain went out from His presence, Cain married and had children. And yes it had to have been one of Cain's female relatives that he married, it wasn't until later on in history that God commanded people not to marry their siblings or close relatives.
hope this clears it up for you, read and study the Bible for yourself

While sisters of Cain are not mentioned, that does not mean they did not exist. The truth is the only possibility is that Cain married his sister, or possible(though not probably) a niece. The fact is, in the first 3 or 4 generation of humanity close marriages were a necessity. Also, they more than likely did not have the genetic defects that make close marriages so dangerous today, as it was so early(comparatively) after sin entered the world(perhaps 20-100 years) Genesis says that after Abel's murder, Cain went to the land of Nod, slept with his wife, and had a son. It does not say that Cain found a wife in Nod, as some have claimed.

Cain and Abel never lived in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve did not have children until they were cast out and commanded to multiply. Just because other children were not mentioned does not mean they did not exist at this time.

In the Qur'an and hadith and also in the book called the history of 25 prophets I know like this
1)Adam and Eve (siti Hawa)were dropped by God from heaven because they did not obey the God's prohibition
2)Adam was dropped in India and Eve was dropped in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. They both met in Arafaah field on the small hill called Rahmahhill..Their had a long life more than 1000 years
3)Adam and Eve had many children with different skin colour
such as white, black, dark brown and light brown
4)Because no other humans, they got married among sisters and brothers. The black married with the brown and white. They spread out to different directions after marriage and mad a special tribe..
5)Kabil (Cain) was handsome but had an ugly wife and Habil (Abel) was ugly but had a beautiful wife .They quarrelled to
to each other..Kabil killed Habil as the first murder at that time.
6)Kabil saw 2 crow brds quarrelled and one of them died. The crow dug a hole and then burried the died bird..
So Kabil burried his brother followed the crow bird.

They may have been the only ones mentioned by name at the time, because they figure prominently in the account. I think there were likely many - (hundreds? thousands? who knows) of other people, all the posterity of A&E living at the time.

Adam lived nearly 1000 years after leaving the garden. Who knows when Cain slew Abel, and how many souls were alive at the time?

There are many people on earth at that time. Adam and Eve had many children. They are not talked about. The ones that were was Cain, Able, and Seth. What these 3 did were important for us to know about.

You answered your own question. Obviously there were other people, although they are not named specifically. The Bible doesn't tell us what age Cain and Abel were when this happened, nor does it state that were no other people born yet.

Cain didn't necessarily mean people who were alive at that time. He lived for hundreds of years. There were many many people alive during that time.
