Yet another tilted question asked by an Anti-everything atheist ???? Am I right ? Listen before I answer your question. I would like propose that you question could be answered if you only read the book as opposed to condemning it. The Bible is the Divine word of God.... no one ever claimed that it wasn't written by men. This is important because I have struggled with this all my llife. It was Inspired by God without that there would be no Bible.

By definition, faith is -- "Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence" That is why it is called faith. It will not be faith otherwise.

There are various educated, successful professionals - doctors, lawyers, scientists that believe in this book. So the claim that it is a sin of the uneducated can be easily dismissed.

Not believing in the Bible merely because it is written by man is thereby relying on logic. But Logic my friend - this is written and created by man itself. So you are contradicting your own claim.

Christians have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. It's through the Holy Spirit that we have the ability to put it together; I mean understanding what it says. That's why Jesus called the Holy Spirit the 'Counselor'. He counsels us on what things mean, and what to value.

I think that's the part you are missing. Only those who God wants are going to care about anything in the Bible. The rest of the people will ignore it, or hate it.

The Bible was written over a 1,600-year period. Its writers lived at different times and came from many walks of life. Some were farmers, fishermen, and shepherds. Others were prophets, judges, and kings. The Gospel writer Luke was a doctor. Despite the varied backgrounds of its writers, the Bible is harmonious from beginning to end.

The first book of the Bible tells us how mankind’s problems began. The last book shows that the whole earth will become a paradise, or garden. All the material in the Bible covers thousands of years of history and relates in some way to the unfolding of God’s purpose. The harmony of the Bible is impressive, but that is what we would expect of a book from God.

The Bible is scientifically accurate. It even contains information that was far ahead of its time. For example, the book of Leviticus contained laws for ancient Israel on quarantine and hygiene when surrounding nations knew nothing about such matters. At a time when there were wrong ideas about the shape of the earth, the Bible referred to it as a circle, or sphere. (Isaiah 40:22) The Bible accurately said that the earth ‘hangs on nothing.’ (Job 26:7) Of course, the Bible is not a science textbook. But when it touches on scientific matters, it is accurate. Is this not what we would expect of a book from God?

The Bible is also historically accurate and reliable. Its accounts are specific. They include not only the names but also the ancestry of individuals. In contrast to secular historians, who often do not mention the defeats of their own people, Bible writers were honest, even recording their own failings and those of their nation. In the Bible book of Numbers, for instance, the writer Moses admits his own serious error for which he was severely reproved. (Numbers 20:2-12) Such honesty is rare in other historical accounts but is found in the Bible because it is a book from God.

As Ryan already said, God told the men what to write.

God was the author, the men were the ghost writers.

Edit: God only inspired the 66 books found in Protestant Bibles

Because if you cant believe God Himself would inspire men to write His book- God is a Spirit- He had to use men He inspired to write His word to us. I'd say you have a faith problem- and God wants you to take that step of faith in Him- He created you to have fellowship with Him- and sent His only Son to die for you, so that you could live forever!

.......Forever is TOO long to be WRONG!~

The scriptures (and all truth, for that matter) can be confirmed individually to a person by God through the Holy Spirit.

It becomes a message from God to *you* when the truth of it is manifested personally by the influence of the Spirit.

The people who wrote the books of the bible were inspired by God to do so. That doesn't mean God was whispering in their ears what to write, but He inspired them to write it.

They say they know that the bible, torah and quran were written by men who were "inspired" by god. They believe this because people told them so. Those people had other people tell THEM, and so on and so on back to the original tellers so that nobody really knows based on any possible evidence. It's all hearesay.

Three religions based on mere hearsay. Because, I assure you all ... nobody living today knows anyone of the original writers of any of those "guide books."
