At that point no, since the only thing on my mind is my instinct for survival. The beliefs would take a backseat to other priorities (i.e saving my life).

Personal beliefs may help to ease suffering by allowing the mind to let go of this mortal coil more quickly than otherwise, but they will do nothing to stop the quickly approaching city bus.

Yes, there is a comfort in not having to worry about death. Jesus has already conquered death for me. When I die, my loved ones will also not have to worry about what will happen to me after death. They know that death is just a sleep until the resurrection. They also know that there is currently no such place as Hell.

In fact, I know of what I speak because I had to watch my 18 year old son die of cancer. It was extremely painful for me but only because it was extremely painful for him and I knew I would miss him -- as any loving parent would. But I drew comfort from the fact that God's Character was not in question over the death of my son. It was also a comfort to know that, to him, the period of his death would be a time of dreamless sleep and that his next conscious thought would be at the resurrection and I would see him then.

The way one takes it is of more importance. What is death, freedom from many agonies, what are agonies, what ever we do, we are always short of something and mind it this cannot be fulfilled. One is not born in a heaven but on earth where he/she has to get free-dom from all bondations and move apart and that is the actual freedom. The spirit which we have has to get free. Our flesh is only on the outerside but what is enclosed beneath is somewhat very different. Our inner self which we hide from people is always hidden inside, and that is the real, which we try to hide. But can we hide from our Mentor?

Yes. If you know death is approaching quickly---but not exactly when----and it will be gruesome and horrifying, all you could do at this point is pray for that experience right before death to be brief and instantaneous.

Absolutely. Anything that helps one not be afraid of the end is worth a shot, especially for the ones who survive. Makes things easier for whoever the dead person left behind.

Depends on what type of help you mean? If you mean will personal beliefs will make you more or less comfortable than yes. If you believe you are going to heaven than you can be excited, if you believe you are going to hell than you would be scared, though its never too late to be saved, only takes a second no matter what situation.

If you mean can it save you from death, yes if you believe God can do anything than he can save you from death. Jesus 4TW.

No one will have peace in the time of death If they do not know where they are going or are unsure what is going to happen.

If it is something that brings comfort, then I do think it could be of some help. It won't eliminate all the physical pain, but it might help ease the emotional pain.

Death is very heavy for the soul. Very heavy. Look for your loved ones who have passed on. They will be there waiting for you. My heart grieves for you. You are a dear friend. I carried my dad through death, I can carry you also, if you want. It was the heaviest thing I have ever done. It keeps one from being alone when they die and right up to meeting their loved ones. Just reach out to me and I will find you.
