My explanation:

first i dont believe any man can understand Gods nature 100% so why do we argue over it. it will take the eternity of heaven to understand the nature of our God.

I believe Jesus is the """Begotten""" son of God (ie is God in flesh) and the holy spirit is God (not God's spirit as God IS spirit) we become sons of God but not Begotten sons.

so God is revealed as Father, Son, Holy Spirit. 1 God revealed in 3 persons.

This question is for Christians, not atheists, im sure you'll post your unwanted responses and give all Christians a thumbs down but i will be paying no notice to them.

Islam is supposedly the religion of peace. So why do so many Muslim countries have governments that terrorize it's citizens? This includes jailing and executing rape victims, executing homosexuals, and persecuting non-Muslims citizens. Why does this happen in the religion of peace?

And don't "blame the media." The media is just showing what is happening.

I am currently reading through The God Delusion and God is Not Great in an attempt to understand the atheist point of view. Are any atheists willing to match me by reading Mere Christianity by CS Lewis and The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel.

Until GW Bush and his Senate cronies WRECKED it by reversing the Court's social polarity from being personal-liberties-oriented to no longer caring for our individual freedoms, the Court had been **benevolent** for more than 100 years. No American alive has ever seen nor experienced the breed of Supreme Court that we NOW are saddled with.

More background... please read this before answering:

http://apifar.blogspot.com/2007/11/vital-warning-unseen-unheeded-now.html

Does America stand a chance as a free country with an ANTI-freedom Supreme Court? Or is a perpetual nightmare about to descend upon our society? Can we possibly still... somehow... **restore** our Court to its former benevolent majority before it's too late?

I for one think that ALL killing is wrong, the death penalty, wars in other peoples countries etc...but we seem to disregard that and justify it under 'murder; bad...killing;fine' when no actual difference was mentioned in the bible, it is the semantics of a word that was translated many times before we even saw it in english...

we eat shelfish, wear clothes of differing fabrics...these seemed to have been big social issues at some point, but now we disregard them as they don't fit our society,
We don't keep slaves now, even though the bible says it's fine, we don't treat women as sex-slaves anymore...

isn't it time religion caught up with issues such as homosexuality, genetics and divorce?

Do they really have a good FOUNDATION to claim they are true disciples of Christ just by following the bible alone?

Of all, is their salvation truly secure? For Catholics, each and every venial sins (unrepentable and conconfesed) are accountable for, let alone mortal sins.

Denying the sacrament of reconciliation and the priests as such, how are the protestants going to clean their souls b4 they meet Christ?

Without the real body and blood of christ how are they going to strengthen their faith and combat sins?

Yes they can ask the Lord directly for forgiveness but can their conscience be cleared? For catholics, confessions gave the penitents the great relieve when their sins are forgiven on behalf of God via the priests which Christ stated clearly in the bible whichever sins they forgive on earth, are forgiven in heaven, those retain will on earth will be as such in heaven.
Can protestants really feel the relieve just by self-confession to Christ alone?

I’ve grown up in Canada, traveled all through the states and England, and everywhere I go I find religious disputes. I grew up Catholic, going to Catholic and public school in and around Toronto ON. I wrote papers in both my religion classes in Catholic school and World Religion classes in public schools, about the all the similarities in the major religions. Heck, the one written about the similarities between Islam, Judaism, and Catholicism, was so long I got docked points! People seem to “hate” Islamist because they are grouping them together with Al-Qaeda, which is not fair because they are extremists going outside of the teaching of Islam. The fact is that they are one of the few religions, (Catholics Mormons are some of the others), to enter disaster areas and help people. Heck, its even part of their religion to donate money to the less fortunate!
Why do some people hate other religions or have such strong feelings against them?
Do you even know what you are talking about?

I know that I am saved, I know that Jesus loves me, and I know Im going to heaven... But my spriritual walk with God has become stale. I continue to struggle with the same sin today that i struggled with before i was saved: pornography. Satan has a solid foothold in my life- I can feel the Lord pulling, but he's moving dead slow. When darkness comes to seize the day, I turn off the light and fade away... My heart has become so dirty, and I have allowed detestable things into my mind. I have looked into the abyss for so long that i dont recognize my own reflection. I feel like paul when he said; " What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate...but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members..." I need someone who inquires of the Lord to give me practical guidance for dealing with this sin, lest I should wither away like the fig tree...

I have been smoking for ½ of my life, since I was 15. I have tried the gum, commit lozenges (effects my heart) I have used the patch, it gave me a nasty rash. I have prayed and had others pray for me. I am very religious, but perhaps I am just really weak. I have seen pictures of blacken lungs, seen people die of lung cancer and still I can’t quit. Jesus is the Lord of my life and I want to be clean of my addictions, but I still automatically grab my smokes, when I’m stressed I stress smoke…I’m smoking now.

½ my life plus one year, so over half my life I have been addicted. I have heard some people using self hypnosis, or affirmations to help them. I want to try this using my MP3 player, but I only have a few, can any one give me more affirmations, or ways that really helped them when they have been smoking as long as I have?

Here’s what I have so far, what can you add to my list?

Again, I'm not gay but everytime I ask a question like this people seem to get stuck on the fact I somehow must be.

All I have to say is, that if there is a gay person in the family, there is often a problem with them loosing relitives, friends over the issue. They also (and Im stereotyping) might not have a great relationship with their fathers, and need a good father figure (in God) to look for support, love, moral guidence.

Why would such a valuable resource push away these people, if anything they are prime converts, 'easy pickins' as they somethaves no family to rely on...I thought religion was supposed to be helping society, not destroying it.

I am here to spread the true message of Islam and I am, sure like me, all my other muslim friends are doing their bit in that direction. This is so needed in today's times specially when all sorts of media are doing their devil's act in augmenting the malicious anti-islam propoganda which only diverts the minds of nonmuslims to the wrong side of facts about Islam. It's easy to tag any write up as a piece of rant and brush it aside but very few have the guts to call a spade a spade. In my experience of the past two months that I have been here, I have met more people who have a problem with someone trying to improve the image of islam than those who are genuinely interested in knowing what's on the other side of piledup misconceptions. My point is that no matter how acceptable or unacceptable one may find the fundamentals of any religion, please acknowledge the fact that you can never know better than the people following it. Hence, when any muslim gives clarifications for something you have believed to be a part of that religion, trust and accept what he is saying instead of throwing punch lines like "WAKE UP GUYS, HOW LONG WILL YOU ALL FOOL PEOPLE" or "SO YOU THINK ANYONE IS READING WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN?". I Take it as a compliment because you give such lines when you don't have matter to combat what the person has written. If I am accused of ranting, tell me who is'nt using this space to their advantage. Infact except for a few who ask one line questions, this forum is flooding with people who are writing writeups in their questions to either protect Islam or criticisie it. Then there are those who don't write lengthy paragraphs, rather direct towards links carrying content going upto two pages. I can give my example, I used to believe that ganpati is worshipped only by maharashtrians and south indian hindus and not by others. This was strongly embeded in my mind because my gujrati firends never worshipped ganpati. Now, to my surprise when I met one who did, after initial bit of arguing, I accepted that my experience was limited. Although my perception was not really about religious practices of all hindus, this incident taught me that my perception of practices of people belonging to other religions will always remain 'MY' perception and can never be better or more than what the followers of that religion know. Like many hindus have told me this about HINDUISM: "Idols are considered as manifestation of God, just as photograph of a human being." or "For us to concentrate on God without having seen any idol or image of God is really difficult... So, to enable us concentrate on that supreme power, we have idols and images of God.." Ask yourself, is that what muslims do with KABAH? NO WE DON'T. But, this forum is full of such pedant nonmuslims who are teaching us our religion. I mean, whether it is the Issue of rules pertaining to veil by muslim women, 'Terrorism'on the basis of misinterpretted Quranic verses, Nonmuslims reading wrong versions of translations of QURAAN apart from ignoring HADITH and TAFSIR or Lies about muslims worshipping the KABAH. Most of the nonmuslims have their version of Islamic knowledge on it and expect us to gulp it down our throats as 'THE REAL PICTURE OF ISLAM", how ridiculous is that?
This is exactly why I have developed sour relations with most of my nonmuslim friends on this forum, who are busy criticising me these days through their questions. If I know what the true picture of ISLAM is it is because I am a muslim and if they have a different vision of the same due to their experience with muslisms, I am ready to challenge those muslims as well? bring them and I will prove them wrong? For instance I am ready to publicly slap a muslim who says those 'verses in question' in QURAAN are hinting towards terrorism. I agree I should not get irritated but how else do you deal with these 'I KNOW ALL ABOUT RELIGION TYPES'?.

If God has a plan for us all (someone dies and they say it was God's will) then why does it do any good to pray? If someone's prayers get "answered" then it's because they prayed, but if they don't get answered it's because God had another plan. So if you pray that someone gets well or doesn't die, is it because someone prayed for them?
